Would i benefit more from running the 3.4" and adding timing, maybe 18-20?
Or runing my 3.2" and runing only 16-17* to avoid kr?
    My mod are:
    TOGs//Stge III ZZP Blower//LS1 tb// 85 maf//XP cam //105lb spings//3" Dp& high flowcat//3.2"//Ud plly//Msd wires//Aut 103's//CAI//DHP 1.0 Power tuned.

Reason i'm asking, is because i ran a 13.6@100mph 1.9' with 17* timing on the 3.2" with blips of kr at the track.
If i wanted to trap higher i would have to had added more timing, which= more KR.
My car has been a pain on the a.... to tune.
With 1.9's rr i traped 99.8mph can't remember the timing i was running.
    Any input is appreciated!

Timing is everything my friend. I wish you have hptuners so i could take a look at some stuff that i'm pretty sure is causing you these problems. Every car is different yes, but that setup should not have to jump to a 3.4 to run 20* of timing. I'll bet there's some glitches in your tune that's killing you. I'm sure i can read a scan or two, why don't you post some up? There's plenty of darn good help on here to give you a pointer or two and maybe help work out your problems? FWIW I trap 106 non-i/c'd on 1.9 rockers, so... I would first change your plugs to 104's those 103 are way cold for that setup, another i have a feeling of a vac. leak, maybe check around for that?

What are you're fuel trims at at WOT? They should be at zero. Like suggested you want the hottest spark that you can get without having any kr.

The WOT section on the timing table on your car should be in this range.

If you had HPT you could do one of these.Wich would be a timing tune.

I could run about 22 degrees with no kr on 87....and 25 on 93...what are you using?

We are tuning with a power tuner, so we can prolly post scans.
Vacumm leak?I just might have one.
104's over 103's why do i need a hoter plug?
    I thought colder was better?

I think last time we scan ltfs were locked at 0.
Hottest spark, you mean spark plug?
I use 93 all the time.
Thanx for all the help guys!

yup thats what i ment. You dont want a colder plug unless you have to have one. 103's sound good for you're combo. You want to run the hottest plug you can without resulting in kr from that hotter spark... In a nut shell

    I'm confused now.
Mikegotone'02 is suggesting to go from 103's to 104'S.
And you are saying the opposite?
I'm runing on 103's right know.
    Isn't the 104's a hotter plug than the 103?

    I think he mean 103's...?

As for this scan... Man you need to definitely put on a bigger pulley. When you were at 100mph you only had 8* of timing after all the kr that's why you're only trapping 100mph. I would try a 3.4 and see what you can get out of that. But 14* of timing at wot is just not enough. When you start adding timing (and it's kr free) you'll notice your car will turn into a whole difference beast. Also, you're running ur car super rich. I'm not sure if that's to prevent kr or not but that's also killing your top end. I would shoot for 920-930's on the o2's, if you don't have one, get a wide band. It IS the best gauge besides of course the aeroforce. I love my wide band, i don't know what i'd do without it.

    But here's the cliffs...

1 put the 3.4 on (might be able to run a 3.3, but try the 3.4 first)
2 Lean it out a little bit, running rich = slow
3 Get the timing up to 18-20* at wot kr free
4 Get a wide band if you don't have one already
    5 ENJOY!!

*might not be in order lol

I would recomend 103's with anything below a 3.4....3.4 and above I would use 104's.

Do you have any TM disabled? I would think with the mods you have you could run a 3.2 without any issues......but then again every car is different.

Other wise stick to the suggestions already given by Mike

We tried changing the Tm settings, but it only made it worst.
    It resulted in more KR.
Anything in particular i should change on TM?Or all settings?

I have a difference in opinion here with the spark plugs hehe I personally wouldn't want to see a 103 on any 3800 making less than 300hp. 104's are just fine, 103 is just way to cold. You need that heat for so many reasons. I don't care about gas mileage but 103's would make you get worse. With my setup i only run the 103's when i'm spraying and change them out to 104's for daily driving and no spray runs. I'm maybe 270ish off the juice and ????? on it.

Tq management settings in my car are all disabled, just thought i'd throw that out there. BUT keep in mind i have a tranny man trans. It's pretty built, but i did have them disabled with my stock trans too... Which is probably why it's sitting at Sinister Drag Design instead of in my car. It was shifting fine, but slipped soooo bad when i got on it. That was the end of that haha.

103's would result in worse or poor gas mileage?
104's would hep me in getting rid of some of that kr?

103's will help get rid of more kr they are a pretty cold plug. You want the hottest strongest flame possible in the cylinder, so when you use the 103's they're to cold. I would use the 104's for that setup, maybe if you made over 300whp i would use 103's but you shouldn't have to go through that much to get rid of the knock you're having. Not to many enthusiasts care to much about gas mileage, which is a good thing lol, i know i sure the hell don't. I get like 15mpg's on a good tank of city, and 20ish on a good tank of highway. For e85 that's not bad IMO. I guess it really doesn't matter what plugs you run, maybe stick with the 103's because of the knock you can't seem to get rid of.

This is what my buddy posted on other forum, to try to help me:

Closed loop desired A/f 14.7.I will check the base Pe when I get home. The tune started as a DHP 1.0. Then we added the 85mm maf bin and ran the table mod to get the LTFT's to 0 at idle, cruise, and WOT. Then Tony added the xp cam and we retuned and raised the shift points . It is going to be hard to get a perfect tune without a WB. ""If anyone has a PT that would like to look over the bin file just let me know and I can email it to you""

    Thanks
