and because of the higher compression. and we cant run the same timing as a l67 can. our timing is lower.

when you rev the engine from under the hood, does the lever on the bbv move?
Scott afaik the l67 and l36 heads are 100% the same minus the injector bungs. So they flow the same.

The output of a map sensor is 0-5V, a 1 bar is close to 0 at full vacuum (about 29"Hg) to 5v at atmospheric (0"Hg/0psi) a 2 bar MAP reads 2.5V at atmospheric pressure and goes up to 5V, at 14.7 psi or so (correct me if I am wrong, please). So basically after you reach atmosphere pressure or 0psi the PCM can no longer "see" any boost and would have to refer to preset tables based on airflow and SD or strictly Speed Density, but then again how can it when it doesn't have a good signal from the MAP.
that is exactly true. a boost gauge only reads what the sensor says, and a 1 bar sensor is going to say very little. I doubt there is a single car company in existence today that uses a 1 bar map sensor.

The higher compression is from the pistons.

its just your doing it wrong. no tough guy bs here. your not getting it or you refuse to try to understand whats going on cause ZZP is god?

if you say they need to re flash the pcm to change the map, do that.

We aren't being hostile, it just comes across that way.

when I bought my 05' it had a 3.4" on it and didn't have any mods really and at first it would go into boost then all of a sudden it wouldn't go into boost no matter what I tried. It took me weeks of testing this and that, buying a mechanical boost gauge then a Torque app to use with a BAFX to scan and see what the hell was going on. If I eased onto the throttle I could get to 5psi then it would drop to 0 and stay there both on the mechanical gauge and the Map output. It was frustrating to say the least. Boy you should have seen the ruckus that caused. My blower screemed, but the car would actually go into limp home and shut me out of the throttle (DBW car). Turned out that the previous owner had put a stinking check valve into the outlet to the gauge and Map. My car had fits. Granted this is not what your car is doing, but it begs the question how does zzp calculate load when all it has to go on is the MAF?

Thats why im on the forum to get other advice... Unfortunately I live in an area where there aren't any good shops close to me to tune or dyno tune the car since I have only zzp to tune I go with what they say and alot of this tuning is new to me.

Replace those coils with stock ones the MSD coils will die sooner or later and are actually worse than the stock ones.
Before you do any more mods to your car I really suggest you read this thread, then read it again and again. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...00-Powered-Car!!

cant see whats going on there. take some pics that show where one end of a line starts and ends. all i see are t some white connectors and clear tubing with a compression fitting on it.

Is that your MAP right at the regulator? Do you have a Barometric pressure sensor as well?

i doubt that is the case you only need a 2 bar on a car that sees positive manifold pressure. A 1 bar would actually have twice the resolution on an NA car since you are dividing 29"-0 between 5V instead of 2.5v

I'm sure that most all NA cars built today have 1 bar maps. There isn't a reason to use a 2 bar.

really? I thought I saw the larger old style Map style sensors on the L67's in the JY as well
    Ford had them as well......

only thing on the back side of the sc is the map, and the evap purge solenoid. thats it. both have vac lines to them. evp has one in and out. map just to it.

looking closer at your pic zoomed the f in. i think you got some issues the way the lines are routed. please get some cloe up picks of the lines coming and going.

i will say its damn clean and looks pretty damn good under the hood. i think you got a bug or two to work out tho.

Thanks man yea EVERYTHING in the motor is brand new only has 5,000 on it thats two summers of me driving lol. Are the msd coils that junk? I just find it hard to put old stock ones on when those are like new. Here are some more pics this is how zzp told me to set it up.

Most of them die within a year, but that is also on a car that is used daily so they might a little longer if you haven't put that many miles on them, and yes the stock coils were even tested by ZZP to be better than the MSD ones, its actually on their list of things that you shouldn't replace. I'll have to dig up the link for that.

what you have should work, but its not really right. you should be using that vac tree on the blower where you have it capped off.

being you have a 97 blower this is how it should be routed really. i know your map pig tail is to short to be on the back side, but run the lines to from where it says to.

your boost gauge line. run that between the nipple under the snout and the map sensor.

dont worry about the stuff you dont have like the evap. and the bbv actuator. as long as the port on the TB is capped its cool.

Okay so just basically run my fpr to any port on the tree? You think that i have to many on one? Is this affecting anything with my boost? What do you think about zzp high voltage coils? Or run stock?
