those coils are known to fail. oem is a better spark too. its been tested. clean and paint your stock coils red if you like the look.
yes use the ports on the tree.
i still think your map is a issue tho.

Okay will do. Is there differnt pressure on yhe tree then the manifold will give my fpr? Are all the ports on the tree the same? I looked on zzp and they have a 2 bar map sensor for a L36 so it just plugs in I'll probably change it over the winter when I get a tune. If you had what I have what would you do next for more hp would you pull the cam?
Okay so you don't think it would be benificial to put a xp cam in it? Zzp said I need stiffer valve springs and a double roller so minus well change the cam while it's apart they said like 20 hp from a gt1 cam to a xp.
Yea I know but I need a double roller to put bigger valve springs in to run more boost right? Zzp wants me to run 140lb valve springs it seems like alot to me and hard on the valve train for the gains I've asked them several times they said 3800s just need to be sprung more even stock I don't know? I could put 105's on it with a single roller right? I mean its all new what rockers would you put on it with the cam I have though it's .507 lift intake and exhaust.
the spring are for the cam so the valves dont float. nothing to do with boost.
you dont do rockers with a cam, use the stock rockers.
roller rockers like the 1.7 1.8. 1.9's all they do is let the valves stay open longer, but its the stock cams profile still.
a cam has a more aggressive profile over the stock one, opening them more and closing the valves faster. why you need the springs to keep the valve in check.
i forgot you had a cam already.
Yea I understand that but the more boost you run you need heavier springs though cause of valve float right? They said if I put a ssic on I can run a 3.25 I'd like to get to 3.1 pulley they said that's aggressive with a ssic so change the cam and you'll be good. They said I'm border line right now with 90'some what springs do you run?
the xp cam is going to change the powerband and put power in the higher rpms. I wouldn't rev higher than 6300. 6400 is probably too high with your current mods. I have an xp cam with 90 lb valve springs and I don't rev higher than 6300. I am planning on swapping to a set of 130 lb valve springs, intense has a set for sale, and I would venture a guess that zzp is suggesting the 140's because they have no 130's in stock. a lot of people run a 90lb or 105 lb with no problems, but the xp cam will do better with a 130 lb valve spring. the hp/tq curve will be more steady. even with the 130's I don't plan on revving higher than 6300.
I have so much invested on what I have not knowin I can't use a full size intercooler on my setup my heads are new with new ss valves, ported a decent amount (gasket matched) with a 3 cut valve job don't really want to change them. Unfortunately I can't run e85 because the closet pump is over an hour away so I'm limited to 93 octane.
Okay yea they have 130's in stock they just want me to put 140's in for some reason. Are you going with a double roller with those 130's? I'm just debating on pulling the motor back apart for the amount of $ to hp gains I don't know if it's worth it.
and why cant you use a fsic? if its the tb hitting you use a turn down. nothing is free.....
stock chain cant handle them 130's or 140's. you need to use a double roller, and then you need to have it machined to fit right. more money spent.
keep in mind the crank turns the timing chain, the chain turns the cam, those springs are harder to turn and wear on the stock chain fast killing it.
Because I have the ssm90 setup my injectors go into my lower intake instead of in the head so when you raise the blower it raises the injector rail cuz the rail is bolted to the top of the blower. Zzp has stand offs for the injectors they sell to use the ssic but they said they can't get a full size to work because it's to much of a gap the injectors are on to much of a angle and the car doesn't want to idle right.
I am pretty sure Frosty ran a fsic under his ssm90 kit before he went l67. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...-Lets-find-out
