its a intake air temp sensor, it tells the car the temp of the air entering the engine, so inside the cone works. or zip tie it to the cone, rip open the mesh a bit for the zit tie to fit, and done, zip ties seem safer for the wires to me, hide it on the back side i guess.

It's the Intake Air Temp sensor...

It reads the ambient air temps...

You drive a 3800...regardless of intake placement the air coming in is going to get hot...

I used the Silicone coupler from Spectre with a small 45* polished elbow (looks).

Drilled a 7/8 hole into the rubber for the IAT and cleaned it with an exacto knife. Fit well and tight. With the filter (9" Spectre) it wasn't too expensive, close to $60.

GTLGDP thats what i was looking at doing putting an spectra filter about that size on the end like that but did you have to tuck any sensors or anything like that? did it through any codes?

Yeah i tucked the temperature sensor inside of it, then tightened the ring. I wouldn't know if its throwing a code or not because i already have my SES light on due to an o2 sensor code.

Will this set-up work on an 04+? I like Coolone's setup. It looks neat. Do i have the same sensors?
