I was hoping some of you out there would be able to help me out with an issue I am sure many of you have delt with. My 99 Grand Prix is a great car, but at night the lights are just not very bright. The low beams are horrible and the highs are not much better. I have replaced the entire housings so they are perfectly clear. I was hoping to either change the bulbs to some nice bright bulbs or would I be better to invest in some projector halo headlight units?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Go HID, but if you don't wanna blind other drivers or if the cops are picky about you blinding them or other drivers then you can buy spyder projects, or go retrofit projectors on your stock headlight housing.

The Spyder projectors are the easiest way to go with an upgrade. 2 options on designs and various vendors, but they all suffer a thin cheap plastic bracket that when over tightened breaks, and they have to be adjusted and occasionally modified with more support to keep them from "bouncing" when you drive.

The retros are about the same cost, but you have to do it yourself. You have to tear your housings apart, drill, cut and splice a projector set into the housings and they work the best, brighter, proper HID or true projector quality, but you again have to do it yourself. Or pay top dollar to have someone else put in the labor hours to build them for you.

HID's work in the stock housings but you need to go 35watt ballast/bulb sets to keep from overheating the OEM housings. And you get really bright light, but it is everywhere and you blind other drivers and it doesn't work the way it really should. Like high beams on crack 24/7.

Its up to you... searching "spyder", "Retro", or "projector" will get you numerous threads on this, good luck, let us know if you need more detailed info. & Welcome

Thanks for getting back to me guys. I really don't know what I want to go with. I would like to spend the least amount but also get my moneys worth.

I was looking at one of the HID kits from DDM, has anyone heard of these being used and are they of good quality?

They seem simple but it may be not the best option. I guess what I am looking for is the best lights that I can put in and not have to worry about. I just want to see better in the dark haha

Again if you could give me some feedback on what may be my best option please let me know....Thanks
