The colder the air coming in, the more molecules are being compressed on the outlet of the blower. Which results in higher pressure, and more heat. So, a cooler air intake does very very little on this blower.

I run a filter right on the tb. It rubs on the cruise control module. I've been wanting to stick a 22.5 degree pipe on it for a couple years now to get it away from there, but I have more important things to do. When I race, I don't run any filter.

Of course the car will make roughly the same power with an open cone versus a Thrasher box or other CAI setup – because the tune remained the same during all pulls. While using a CAI, the owner of the car failed to re-tune his car and add more timing to take advantage of the lower IAT… of course he’s not going to make any more power.
You really need to quit being a dumbass just because your car made a few more ponies than smutty's. It has been said time and time again that his car wasn't running correctly and that is why your car made more power.

Heres what I don't get, why don't other other cars that come equipped with roots blowers from the factory do the same thing when they mod?

Every other group of car owners have bare minimum a ambient air intake source. Nah not gp owners, there stuck on this idea of just hanging a filter off the tb and calling it a day..

    ^^ This.

Because putting your cold air intake next to the hot exhaust manifold...

If you feel compelled to slap a filter on a tb, at least put header wrap on the crossover

The fastest times and highest dyno's have been with the least amount of intake tubing. That's why we are stuck on it.

lmao you're missing a lot of key variables in that one.

    Because it's true?

If making a true "cold air intake" has done so much, why are all the high horsepower guys filter less or barely any intake tubing?

Now, if you actually ran the manifolds/downpipe UNDER the transmission like it should have been done from the factory like all the import jobs, then I could see the reason behind it.

Even with an awesome intake in the fender/bumper, with a wrapped crossover and a TB heat shield and whatever else you want to add, its the post blower temps that matter...and your super amazeballs cold air intake is making no more power than my $30 filter slapped on the throttle body because the heat blasting off that crossover pipe. It was the flaw of these cars everyone has to deal with. You learn to live with it, unless you spend silly amounts of money running everything under the car and snaking it through the subframe? Yeah.

    Want proof?

Please someone go measure IAT's post blower with 27 different intake setups.

I bet it makes mounds of difference.
