Well after doin some searching around this forum I decided to make a short ram intake (i think...the one with the cone really close to the fender but not quite a fwi). Anyway i was wondering what to make it out of. I've seen em made of anything from exhaust tubing to pvc pipe to rubber hoses and short pieces of pipe. Not planning on the last one. What are the pros/cons to making it out of pvc vs exhaust pipe? Or does anyone know of any other materials that would be better?

you can buy chrome pipping from pep boys or aurtozone and buy a coupler to mate it to the TB.

search the how to section for how to make a simple cold air intake, you'll find a write up, just use that guide and use what you what you want to build it with.
