Switch fuse boxes and all why not just scrap it instead of doing all that work
|
its actually less work to unplug the fuse block to body plug and move it with the engine/trans to the new vehicle.
there are like 40 connectors on the engine and some require a bit of work to get to/etc.
if it were me id unplug the 3 conn's at the fusebox and swap it with the motor/trans too.
plus they figured they could get more $ out of a "compG"
my 04 would be more of a GTP clone than a compG as i didnt want tapshift but i wanted the 3.29's over the 3.05 FDR diff
GTP and Comp-G shifters are not compatible. Different ratios, different electronics, different PCMs
You car could even be 3+ cars matched together?
tapshift trans is its own animal
the connector at the trans has more pins than a std non tapshift trans. the pcm is also special.
but i know you can make a tapshift trans work with a gtp non tapshift bin file...it will throw all sorts of tapshift control codes.
so you either have a modified cG bin or they have an NA(base model) or GTP (non tapshift) PCM controlling that trans/SC engine
I'm going to guess that you don't have a CompG engine or trans in the car. I personally did that swap on my car, and it's a lot more complicated then the typical Detroit salvage hackjob. More then likely you have a GTP with stock 2.96 gears and a CompG badge slapped on the side.
