there's only one e85 station here close to my house, but the owner is running it in his car
    Handling?! What's that?

I'm really looking forward to the octane gains. All I can get here is 91. Unless I want to pay $10/gallon for 110. Even with my listed mods, I'm still seeing 2°-3° of knock near 5k rpm on a stock pulley.

Being that E85 was never in my car modding future i can say that this has to be the best engine mod for this car pound for pound! Im currently on a stock pump but upgrading to a aem pump this week because of my pulley swap and i'll drop from a 3.0 to a 2.8 by that time i saw 5* of knock on my Cammed/ Heads /Header/ Genv /3.0 Pulley setup driving the car now i have no knock!

stock pulley and you still have knock on headers? You need to look elsewhere for your knock issue

I think with e85 some sway bars and braces, and that car should be a different beast.
with the e85 and 42# injectors does the maf and o2 sensor still compensate for lean and rich conditions?
I understand how e85 raises power and lowers spark knock, but i just want to make sure its definitely ok to run without a tune.
I guess it was pounded into my head that any major change requires tune.
If it runs like normal (not rich or lean) then it will definitely be one of my first mods. How small of a pulley can i run on a stock car with the 42# E85 SETUP

If you use 42.5# injectors you dont need a tune as they are 30% larger and e85 requires around a 30% adjustment. Any other injector type you will need a tune for e85. If its possible I still recommend getting an in car tune from a local tuner

what sort of pulley should i be able to run?
Theres a local place that will do initial dyno tune for 500, and subsequent tunes for 100$ probably hit them up when i go turbo.

I don't think so. I think it's all heat related. When I do a WOT run before the engine is fully warmed up, I see 0° throughout the RPM range. As soon as she gets hot, I see blips at the upper RPM range. Not much though. Before CAI and headers, I would see 4°+ degrees under at 2500 RPM during a hill climb (moderate load). IAT's were at or near 130°. It get's hot as balls here. I think if I had 93 vs 91 that couple degrees of knock would go away.

Go richer as temp gets higher... or there is a table that adjusts fueling based on WoT Time

I suppose I am tuned so my timing is adjusted to kill knock, but I had no knock on hot days on a 3.8 pulley gen 3 top swap, no headers or anything. (usually you have to run slightly larger pulleys on top swap because of the higher compression. ) I think i'm only running 14* of timing tho

I'm on a stock tune. A tuner is high on my want list.

meh 42.5ers and e85 will kill his knock real good if that is his only issue.

Winter's coming so I'm curious to see how it reacts to some "cold" air. Cold being mid 50's.

Nope! We moved away from that. I miss the change in the seasons, but not the cold.
