I run what you see in my sig. Top swap on 04, Gen 5, VS cam. I put down 280 to the wheels on 3.5 pulley. I had no knock on E85 and Tim kept bumping up my timing. I am at 22 degrees timing right now. I need to pulley down.
Also I am running the VS cam with yellow springs and was getting valve float. Had to drop my WOT shift rpm down. Need to swap out for 105s.
I am non-intercooled and run stock 195 stat. Higher compression from top swap.
E85 feels good! Good power. Driveability is same as stock. Tim at ZZP did a good job getting it dialed in on the dyno and during the test ride. I have some cold start trouble so I am adding fuel to the crank vs temp table to get that straightened out. I wish I would have swapped pulleys prior to the dyno and started smaller but I will work on that at home.
Also I upgraded to 60 Injectors and new fuel pump and filter. I think this is a must!
When I switched over I pulled up to the e85 pump. I removed the Schrader valve, hooked a hose on the port, and stuck it in a gas can. Stick a wire in the fuel pump relay and pump out all the 93.
That VS cam on E85 pulls hard on the street. Fun tire burner but no traction. No traction below 30 with summer sticky tires and I can spin in the rain at any speed. Annoying.
On a side note e85 has a sweet smell. Some describe it as popcorn smell. It smells more fruity to me. It gives the exhaust a nice smell! Lol
No matter what you will need tuning done. Either buy the DHP interface and grab the software from the Dropbox or get HPT. I had a mail order from ZZP before the dyno. It's not ideal but it worked fine for me.
