I doubt highly the 90 lb springs had valve float, unless they are wearing out. I ran 90's with my XP cam, and revved that thing to 6200, sometimes shifting at 6300, and I never saw any indication of valve float. there is a way to see if you have valve float by looking at your map pressure and your maf hz, but I don't remember exactly. I wouldn't worry about revving it higher anyway because the VS cam powerband peaks at something like 6000. it is more of a mid range cam with good low end.

Yes. The table is in TT. I have an 04 and it wasn't in TT initially. I used the TT editor and found the table in an 05 bin. Searched my 04 for the matching hex data values in my bin and used the editor to add the table to my 04 bin in the database. Then opened TT and edited it in the newly added table. I increased the multiplier times 1.3 (30%) which has gotten my DIC calculation within 2% (.3 mpg) of my actual fuel used (doing manual calculations).

I am pretty sure I am going to pulley down again from my current 3.35 to a 3.2. No knock on the 3.35 at 20 degrees timing and feels good. I am surprised how much E85 prevents KR. I was worried going below a 3.5 on a topswap higher compression Gen5 VS cam but my fears were unfounded. Thanks for everyone's help so far.

I cannot find an 05 file with that in it. It would be located under Accessories or Undefined right?

I was running a 3.0 on the same cam with a top swap setup, never had an issue until the pistons couldn't take the pressure anymore.

It is located under Undefined. If you don't see it then you need to change databases. You need to use the Active_TTDB not TinyTuner_DB. The active database has many more programmed tables. Grab it from Scotty's Dropbox.

Also I have found the MPG is really only accurate to about 1 mpg or so. And it also changes depending on how much Ethanol (blends) is in the E85 (summer vs. winter). My DIC multiplier is 1.382813 right now verse the stock 1.063721.

Quick Summary:
In addition to having it dyno'ed for E85 I also had to bump up my crank fuel vs. cold start (in TinyTuner database) quite a bit for 32*F and colder. Just keep adding fuel til it starts easy. I also programmed the fuel mileage DIC readout multiplier to get my DIC MPG calculation back on track. (Ideally I would have rathered programmed the fuel density table but I could not find it for my 04 GP). I also had some idle issue's coming off DFCO on decel. Idle would drop too low as I was braking to a stop then swing as it recovered. Had to up the RPM and speed thresholds of the DFCO to stop that. (This may be more related to my cam then E85).

brettstoner- Is the DIC programmable with the various tuners or is it a Tech II thing? What is the horsepower with your e85 setup. I see 300 in your sig but I'm sure that is a bit off or just a general number. Thanks

I tuned the DIC with DHP but I had to manually add the table for my 04 to edit in Tiny Tuners. In HPT I believe it is in Engine -> Fuel -> General , Instrument Cluster Outputs, Fuel Density to correct for E85 but don't quote me. I couldn't find the fuel density table in DHP so I changed the DIC multiplier with DHP (well technically Tiny Tuner) to get me there. Even so the DIC fluctuates by up to 1 mpg between fill-ups. It is just not that accurate since I started tracking my fuel 5 months ago.

I previously had a 3.5, stock Gen 5, top swap, E85, 60 injectors, 195 stat, FP rewire with new stock GM pump, Speed Daddy headers, stock heads, VS cam, stock rockers, stock catback, stock intake with K&N drop in filter, 8 lbs boost, and did 280 hp to the wheels at ZZP.

I am down to 3.0 pulley and still zero KR. I am guessing probably at 300 hp now. Maybe more. Who knows. It's a guess.

That's pretty decent for a drop in air filter and stock heads. But sort of makes sense, you did top swap your car. So now you have a higher compression motor than a typical supercharged motor.

Just an update on E85..... I love it!

I had to really bump up the cold start fueling. From 60 degrees to 30 degrees (F) I am running 30% more cranking fuel. From 30 degrees down I am running 60% more cranking fuel. Fires right up with the extra fuel. I just kept adding fuel during below freezing starts til my crank times were back to stock. It takes a lot more Ethanol to light off than gas.

I average 12 mpg in 100% stop and go city driving not driving efficiently... at all! On premium I was getting 14 mpg. Before the top swap I was getting up to 18 mpg city if I babied it. I only drive several hundred miles a month in city traffic so I don't know what I could get on the highway. The price of premium vs E85 makes the cost a non-issue for me and I am lucky enough to have several E85 stations several miles from my house.

I had to adjust the DIC to get my mpg readout close.

I had to adjust my decel fuel cutoff and bump up my idle speed a little for my cam. Idles same as stock now.

I ended up installing a Racelogic Traction Control system to help with traction. Great mod!

It is a great mild, streetable, budget setup. Car idles and runs like stock. Did the trans, cam install, and top swap in a 3 day weekend. I researched on here what works and patterned my build on those before me instead of wasting money on mods that don't compliment each other. I also followed the guidance of ZZP who did my dyno tune.

I am running higher compression with the N/A block and S/C heads. I had a valve job done because the seats weren't good and put used 90 springs in that I bought on here. I didn't port the TB, S/C, intake, or heads. Just cleaned them up and bolted on. I'm sure I am leaving some HP on the table without flow mods but for a daily driver who cares. It is a kid hauler not a race car. I didn't see the benefit of spending money on an intake and porting for small gains. I also don't like a loud intake or exhaust on a daily driver. It quickly becomes annoying (to me at least). These cars just don't sound good (minus the blower whine). I am happy with where I am at and have no further plans for mods.

If someone is looking to go E85: Larger injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump rewire, pulley down, and tuning makes for a nice HP increase.
