There is nothing wrong with my car. I only have one key and am to cheap to buy another one. If I can eliminate the PK3 then it removes it from future issues. I have had the car for 4 or 5 years and have only had one key.

there is the hack where you zip tie your good key in the column, then use any blank key as you see fit. now thats real cheap.

Sorry Bill, too used to living around Detroit! You need any theft deterrent system you can get around there. Disabling VATS would be my last resort.....lol. Living in northern Michigan now, it would be a viable option!

ive always had issues on the later files 00+ setting theft present to false...on earliers ive had no problem...i always figured it for being due to the BCM being part of the pk3 systems in the later cars instead of a cluster/pk box and pcm. i couldnt delete an achieva one time....

is it possibly just poorly mapped then on later files?

[Old, but I thought I would throw this out for what it's worth]
    You are right sir....
When I had remote start added to my 02 GP SE back in 02, they cut the metal part of the key off and cram transponder part up inside the plastic part surrounding the key part. I guess it just has to be close. From then on, I just make regular keys without the transponder part. :-)

    Bam.. take that key guys
I know Bill, it won't fix a bad ignition not reading the key. :-) Not a key guy, just throwing it out for those who don't have programmers.

So Jeckel, what did you find in the end?

I finally got my pc back up and running, and am still trying to find the fuel pump or injector runtime that billboost is talking about in dhp. I remember seeing it, but cannot find it now.
