On a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, at 205K miles, the fuel pump is making a good bit of buzzing/hissing noise, almost non-stop now. It has made that noise off and on for the past 100K miles, but now, as I start the car and drive a few miles, I can hear the buzzing/hissing. Also, at 50mph or more, I can feel that the engine is starving for fuel. This happens only at hwy speeds.
I have replaced the fuel filter recently.
I don't want to take a chance and keep driving with the pump making the constant noise, for fear it will stop running.
On RockAuto, for standard replacement pumps (I have no engine mods), what is a good choice for a new pump?
Is there any pump listed that should be avoided due to defects?
Thanks in advance
