The heat comes out of the dash vents all the time even when I set it for floor and nothing comes out the floor, any ideas?

The blend door is another name for the temp door. The mode door is the one that controls where the air comes out. When you move the mode control knob does it switch to any other position, or just not floor? Did you check the knob itself? Pull the knob off and see if it is cracked causing it not to move the actual switch.

Yeah checked the knob, does not work in and other position, heater can't be bypassed I am orginal owner and it worked fine up until about 1 month ago, BTW its a 1997 Grand prix GT N/A with the standard heat not the dual or digital. I thought it may be blend door, but was not sure since it is not dual zone. So how do I find and fix this thing?

    Thanks

Grab the knob firmly and pull it straight off, turn it upside down and look at the side that connected to the switch. If it is cracked replace it. In the mean time you can get a pair of pliers and move the shaft of the switch without the knob on it
