posted more of its parts for sale locally.
Topped it off:
To go pick up this old girl:
2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette
I call her Betty cause she's old and she's white.
Planned mods include:
Added factory overhead DVD player
HID retro's ( Wife has poor night vision )
It was a one owner trade in. I'll admit, it's very low on the excitement scale, but this is honestly the nicest thing I have ever owned. More importantly, I paid cash for it. Most importantly, it's what the wife wanted. She loves is.
Those mini-vans are good stuff when you have kids or you want to move stuff.
I had 2 fords years ago. The 95 was a complete disaster. Then I end up buying another 2001 windstar.
I think I did it cuz I thought it was a joke. Turned out to be ok
3 kids here. And it's actually replacing a 1998 Montana. I was so happy with that, I decided to stick with the U-Body platform.
I mean, What else can you stick 7 humans OR a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood inside?!
Again I will say, SO not cool, but extremely practical. And parts are a dime-a-dozen.
Washed the black caged car and threw both cracked bumpers in the trash. Will be trying to pick up replacement front and rear bumpers this week along with a new roof skin. Patched sunroof is too ghetto for me.
Replaced the impact sensor in the Avalanche, didn't fix the problem so I'm assuming its a bad ground to the sensor or some other no fun wiring crap. Its probably going to go back to the dealer Monday.
Not today, but rolled 176k miles on Friday.
Only took 2 months to go another 1,000 miles. Next 1,000 will probably take even longer since bowling league ends at the end of the month.
I rolled 238,000 yesterday, lol. I took the side skirt off my passenger side to look for rust. I found what I was looking for:

Changed supercharger oil. At first I didn't think I was going to be able to complete the job today because the plug didn't want to break loose. Sprayed some liquid wrench on it and finally broke it free. Actually smacked my elbow when I did.
Got all the old out and filled it with fresh GM fluid. I don't know if the fluid was ever changed. I've put 53k on it since I've owned it this is the first time I changed it.
This is what came out

nice stink bomb you got there.
Still working up the nerve to leave the house because its sunny out and people drive nutso. Grape has a full belly and I don't though, must go fix dat. BUWAAAAAchurpWAAAAAArrtAAAAAaaaaa.... ah. Musn't grow up, tire and exhaust noises are important to make every day. Squealy V belt sound however, not so important. But plentiful on the 69. I could probably scare up a Scotch Brite but man that hood still might as well be a bank vault door, no better than I can get it open and shut. Maybe from underneath, theres room enough for a grizzly to climb up in there. Need both paws fudat though. Pfft.
