Warshed it off at the car wash, i forgot to bring the micro fibers to actually hand wash it and the car wash brush was 90% sand so nope. Still very dirty but at least all the mud and dirt is off from thawing roads. Probably going to see about getting an estimate on getting this rust fixed on my car on the RR qp. If its around like 400-600 I'll probably do it just for piece of mind but its got a hole in it so I don't expect to be that lucky.

Russo, I could use a lightweight side job, c'mon down!

Put a new battery in the GTP today, the reason is too complex to explain but yep did it one-handed in a parking lot. Carried that battery about a mile, left hand only.

Found out my unla (the big forearm bone) is cracked all the way across and I have a floatin bone chip in my wrist so I won't be working for some time. First doc that looked at the airbag injury missed the cracks and told me to use it. On and off, I worked six weeks with that. Pain is my buddy, we are tight like peas in a pod. I'll sue the first doctor and hope I'm fixable. Having the surgery-or-no conv with an ortho tomorrow, got a CT scan today. Pain achieved critical mass so I had to go. Cop still has not determined fault in the wreck and may never. May have to change my name to I M F' D. Sure tired of my nuts being in a vise. Guess I won't have anything going to SEMA this year, sniffle. Depending on the cop, I may be homeless by then.

Looks like I might be wearing out the forums for a couple months to make days go by. I'll try to be cool.

I'm in the northwest corner or Arkansas, maybe an hour from KS. Messinwidja. Lets see, I don't know that rust hole but lets say four hours to patch it, three to paint. Shop rates float around $60-ish here last I checked, so that puts you around six hun. I'd have a better idea if I saw it, main thing is does it come from the inside out or outside in. When rusted from the inside, the extent of damage is hidden. I just hope you get lucky and find a tech like me to do the work!

Its from the inside i guess as the paint has actually separated and is separating away from the what used to be metal I'm surprised thr chunk hasn't just chipped off yet. I think the POs dad did some really bad body work to hide the rust and other dings thus making the rust worse, evidence of this is all around the car with really bad touchup work.

bad pic but best i have right now, but the bubbling is further up now. I can snap a good pic tomorrow.

I was trying to coat that area in grease from the backside so mine doesn't rust lol. Only did so much though as I left the inner wheel well.

Finally bought her some supercharger oil. Not sure when it will be in. If by some miracle it makes it by Saturday I'll be changing that stinky stuff this weekend when I change the intermediate steering shaft. If not, next weekend.

I squirt lithum grease up the cracking paint hopefully it helps some to slow the rust.

Sorry Kyle, thats not a small issue there. Wheelhouse is prolly toast, too. Scratch the 600. I bet they try to run you off with a high estimate and are not interested in the job. That or they plan to half-ass. Rust encapsulator should be in everyone's garage up there, man. The Tahoe I worked on yesterday has inside out rocker rust, at the rear. Holes started at about the middle of the rear door. By the time I had the rot all found, I had to chop it off all the way up by the middle of the front door.

Ran up to get my scrips then some chow, was gonna write back from the Tbell drive thru then I realized I was still logged in at the house, lol.

Oh and to top off this great day... trans started slipping like its low on fluid but it ain't. Goes neutral-ish when you stop then bang when you hit the gas. That thing didn't make 20K miles! .45 to the cranium keeps sounding better and better.

Sad face, I'll still try for an estimate and have a defib at the ready. Untill then I'll just try to go crazy with stuff in cans to stop more salt from getting in it and rusting more. Drivers rockers is getting soft in spots and has a small hole but nothing major. Bummed about it but not much I can do. Just a wbody thang, at least i have plenty of time to save for a new shell/car.

Also add my moms car to that list of cars doing the bang into 1st, it scares the crap out of my sister when shes driving it too haha.

Yeah needs a rebuild at that point. Unless you like taking chances and try doing it yourself, it's pretty much right in the middle of the transmission, at that point a rebuild is the best route.
