Your best bet is to find a used L67 rod someplace. I'm not aware of any that you can buy new anymore.

Whatever you do, don't machine the crank. You will snap it in half if you run a machined crank. You will need to find one that is still within spec.

Everyone else here has touched on how much you will save by just getting a junkyard motor.

It's been my studied opinion, that if ten people are telling you the same thing, you should at least listen...

I clearly explained my question... it was, "what is the part number and source for a rod?" That's all I asked. I would guess since it was so hard to find, someone here would say

which somehow took 16 replies to get to.

Or maybe someone could have linked me to an old thread containing the info I was asking for if they knew of it. Simple.

and thank you Reptile, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. In that case, then I will certainly have to abandon the idea of purchasing a new rod and instead try to find a used one. Im definitely not trying to buy 6 rods. This will help me narrow my search efforts a lot.

I have spent countless hours Googling this subject, and I cannot find any definitive answer, which is why I came here to ask people who actually work on these engines. Even a search here didn't come up with anything, like explained in my original post. Try it yourself, mouth, and see that "rod" fails for being too short of a word. "Piston Rod" only searches the word "Piston" and ignores "rod" and returns a bazzilion posts about pistons... same thing with "Connecting Rod", it returns all kinds of **** about connecting wires and other nonsense. again, you think you know, but you obviously haven't tried it to see for yourself, in addition to not knowing the rod part number.

Thats beside the point, the point is you are ignoring every sensible bit of information because you think you are this master mechanic. Only a fool will repeat the past and expect a different outcome. But bro, go for it. Rebuild that engine! Bro come on! Rebuild it!

I don't give a **** if you think I can do it or not, I just need a part number. I used the above example to show the last time that same clown told me what I couldn't do, I did it anyway and it worked. apparently he forgot.

and you were also told to not waste your time or money countless times in a row. and you cant buy what you want new. so you keep looking.

do yourself a favor and just buy a used block...cause it will not last long. its not a 350 small block. you can not just lay new bearings in and be ok.
