    Instead of being defensive you could always explain "what you have going on" and it would avoid these comments and make people more willing to help you.

    I clearly explained my question... it was, "what is the part number and source for a rod?" That's all I asked. I would guess since it was so hard to find, someone here would say

    and thank you Reptile, I was afraid that was going to be the answer. In that case, then I will certainly have to abandon the idea of purchasing a new rod and instead try to find a used one. Im definitely not trying to buy 6 rods. This will help me narrow my search efforts a lot.
