on non 97 cars false knock is EXTREMELY rare.

on 97's with false knock, the KR that shows up is very obvious... usually at anything off idle it will peg it out. Showing false KR at wide open and not anywhere else is basically impossible... The stories of transmissions / downpipes / etc causing false KR are only somewhat true, not many people will be able to tell you that doing one false KR eliminating mod or the other ever helped.
