If you step on the accelerator with the TC locked it will usually knock until the downshift.

P=F*V and let V = RPM which is low in OD so F is high for the given P resulting in knock.
Maybe this is it then. It doesn't seem to do it when i'm in 1st gear and it hits second. Its only if i'm already cursing on the highway and let it drop down to second it spikes to 4-5 but then rapidly drops to zero.
