Touche sir. Good lord I would be sad if it lost fuel AND spark lol

Before I go into checking for spark (which I don't see why that would be broken) Would someone care to enlighten me about the how to check if the pump is getting power? I know for certain there is no fuel pressure so I'd like to work on that first.
if you have a 2 dollar test light, or 2 wires and a small bulb.....you open up the panel in the trunk and unhook the plug to the pump, ground one wire and stick the tester prob into the end of the plug, (grey wire i think bill said, reread his post) if it lights up you are getting power, make sure the key is in the run position when testing.
With that bulb... straighten the two tabs.. then pull the square connector off the pump. Touch one of the wries from the bulb to gray and the other to black. No need to strip wire..once you pull the connector..it'll be easy. Then turn the key from off to start and it should light for a second. only a second though. Because until the motor starts the pcm keeps the pump from running for more than that second to prime.
You could also use a piece of vacuum hose and a can of brake cleaner. Put the vacuum hose to the port on the LIM and spray some brake cleaner while someone cranks the car to get it running. Now it's your job to mist the brake clean every second or so..full stream is too much..so you gotta hit the button..wait...hit the button. You can get the motor to run pretty well that way.
I'm voting BillBoost for prez in 2012. I used my corner light as you described and sure enough it lit up for about 2 seconds when I keyed the car on. I plugged the pump back in and tapped on it a few times. My car started but died after 1 second, 1 time. After that it would not start again, not even for a second. All this points me to believe the fuel pump is toast. I'm about to order one from zzp (their 255 lph pump is $129, and advance auto told me a boring stock one was $250 form them lol) Do I need to get the fuel line tool? I'm going to replace the fuel filter as well. My car has 160K miles and I don't know the last time it was done if ever. Thanks again for the help yall, I really wouldn't have been able to get this done without ya.
you can get a rebuild kit for less than 50 bucks, all you have to do it remove the filter and the pump, and replace them, no real tools needed. all that money is be spent on a fuel level sender and the case it all lives in. food for thought. the auto parts store may have a rebuild kit, if not ebay does.
Take a look at this thread. Mainly the pics

Gives you an idea of how to get most of the job done.
