Running a used cam in a engine you are planning on driving/racing and keeping is like screwing a hot chick with a STD. You know you want to hit it, but your afraid of the consequences. lol
I'd never buy and install a used cam.But that's just me.
When I bought all my stuff for my engine build from Intense, they gave me a package deal on everything. But because I bought the cam and heads together, (along with various other parts) they hooked me up. Don't ask, I am not at liberty to discuss that. At the time, Stage 3 was the biggest cam on the market.
I'm still happy with my choice of parts to this day. Its been a very powerful, successful engine with only a few minor problems. (usual stuff from a modified engine)

Around town any where from 11-15mpg highway still got low 20's
Here is a short sound clip I got more somewhere on all the tapes of the car.
I get 15 purely because of the roads i take.
stock valvetrain.
I could get 20 mpg but only when theres no traffic (midnight to 5 am)
You won't be able to touch that with an S3.
Stop and go traffic...with the idle set so low...10-12.
