thats about 2 hr drive i may once i fix the misfires. have him check it all out.
*update*
Car is still running like **** after changing plugs, swapping coils, fixing all vac lines and cleaning MAF sensor.
So tuesday i plan on pulling the fuel rail, check it for bends or any visual impurities and then clean and check the fuel injectors and also use some sealant and fix my crossover pipe leak.
Hopefully this will help the misfire on #5 if not, i guess ill change the wires and get the ICM tested.
so pulled number 3 and 5 injectors to swap them today and found out that 5's injector was completely ****ed. the piece that holds the bottom oring in place was completely gone, ill have pics up later of the injectors. Went to advanced auto parts and ordered one and itll be here tomorrow morning at 7 am. Hopefully this fixes my problem
Sounds like your problem. Without the tip there's no way to direct the fanning spray of fuel so it basically just squirts into The cylinder and puddles.
I never had the little plastic retainers on the bottom of my injectors...never once had a fueling issue.
well i think it may be the problem because all the other injectors have them and 5 didnt and its the injector im having issues with, plus the lower o ring just falls off without that retainer.
Are you sure there still isn't an O-Ring in the LIM sitting in the hole for the injector.
yeah.. its on in the pic lol it just slides off super easy and i put a new one on it to see if it was just swollen or stretched for some reason and even the new ones slide right off.
swapped injectors today and the car is running better already, now ive run into another issue... IF i start the car and let it sick for 5-10 seconds the rpms bounce from 1000 to 2000 then to 500 then cars boggs downs a shuts off. Vac leak or something else?
Did you ever replace the MAF...?
Unplug it...then start it.
ill do that tomorrow.
Went to pick n pull and got me a fuel rail... 11 dollars and 89 cents![]()
Hope I gave you some good tips on checking things, if you need any more help, you've got my cell # now, just give me a shout and I'll do what I can to help ya out. Remember, keep an eye on your gauges.![]()
so, alot of you will probably doubt my issue. BUT i changed my fuel rails out and cleaned all the injectors and when i put the new fuel rail in it fit perfectly and the injectors said just right. so i think everythings fixed, as i start the car it turns over perfectly smooth and my boost gauge is reading right around -20.8 to -21.1 so thats about right, i let it sit for about 5 mins to check all vac lines sensors, injectors etc. The car still boggs down! i think i jinxed myself because i called bluegtp91 saying how it was running perfect. so i check everything again and everythings right, my friend said try changing you computer to see if the issue follows. IT DIDNT! i guess my 3800 performance tune was bad and its running fine on the stock pcm. so im sending it back today to have it retuned.
20 psi?...
do you have the U clamps that came with the headers? If you do get band clamps and use a ton of copper RTV on the crossovers that should fix your leak
