The "hump" sticks down a fair amount. The one set I put on, the guy later took it to an exhaust shop and had them remove the hump. As for the interlock, the local I helped only had that part there for a week. It was removed when the hump was taken out. It sealed for a week, at least...

Logan, I'm glad to see that you're going through with this. I'll be excited to see the outcome.

So where does this stand? Or is it another one of those "I'll do it" than you never hear anything about it again?

Ok guys heres where we are at. Apparently there is interest so we will go through with this. Im working with a couple of buddys on this as it needs to be financed to get the materials. Ill let you know when i get the stuff, they should be ready by mid january. I have a couple questions for potential buyers:

    1. On the downpipe, for clearance issues im thinking of cutting off the 3 bolt flange and welding on a v band clamp its lower profile to ensure it doesnt interfere with the firewall. Thoughts?

    2. On the crossover, would you be interested in me adding a v band connection towards the rear so that you can take apart the crossover in case you had to remove the tranny and it would make header install easier. The v band clamps dont leak so that wont be a problem. Thoughts?

IF you make them like this, they will sell.

    Don't use cheap materials

    Use 304 or 321 SS
    interlock flexes
3/8 or 1/2 in SS flange
SS vibrant V-band clamps have a nice male/female lip which ensures perfect sealing

^^^^^ i kinda like that design. working on the Y pipe trying to clamp it down and everything while its on the car is kind of a *****. if the back header would not be an install issuie to get it on/in the car then this looks like it would simplify installation. and if it seals up with those clamps, then why not.

SSAC base headers modified with vband, flexes, and downpipe modified

V-band clamps are definitely the way to go.
The design of the picture above is pretty much perfect! The flex could be placed post-bend in order to allow the pipe to hug the tunnel a bit better...

Can we make the EGR an option? I don't have it, and would prefer not to have to block it off or have it welded shut.

Most definitely. Egr can be an option. Basically im buying headers and modding them like the above ones, except that the crossover wont have a flex as it doesnt need one, and the downpipe flex is on the straight part, not the slanted as above. I can remove the egr and weld it shut if you need.

    Materials?

Pacerusters...and a permanent marker. Oh...and have a welder handy. No clamps, no bolts...nothing. Just a 2 piece header setup that...might I add, was as easy to install as ZZP's.

if you mean the horizontal part of the pipe I wonder how the flex would handle the compression rather than the side to side movement if it were in the vertical part of the pipe?

The flex in the crossover would allow for a little bit of error in case fitment isn't perfect for some reason, but I can see where it really isn't necessary.
