My S&S headers didn't come with bolts either. I just bought locking header bolts for a SBC since they were going on my 3400. Not sure of the thread for the 3800 manifold bolts.
another question... do i need to put RTV on the exhaust manifold gaskets?
no def dont rtv them not that it will hurt anything though
and yea i found out they dont come with new bolts... that means i gotta be REALLY careful taking them off
mine came off really easy for some reason didnt use anything to lube them up either
gotta go no cat...i pass emissions lol
and i feel kind of stupid for asking this, but whats the best point to jack the car up from the front? and whats the best point to put the jack stands under? ive never actually had to do this yet with anything ive done... ive always just thrown it up on ramps for changing the oil... which i probably could just do that
The frame rails, where the pinch weld is. do it slowly as I have had these "factory points" bend on me before...
Also secure any wratched straps and get them tight to atleast where they motor sits regularly with the dogbones attached for making things easier on yourself.
I jack it up and put jack stands just to the rear of where the rear subframe bolts are. Really sturdy area.
Let us know how the install goes on the ZZP headers. I'm looking into getting either them or the TOG set...I'm just trying to do all the research I can before buying a set of $750 headers.
What is the EGR?
If I get the zzp headers and the tog style downpipe, is that a complete bolt on set up all the way to the stock exhaust system?
