I went to put a MPS on the car today and found out i dont have a breather nut on the supercharger. Bought the car this way, i know the supercharger was replaced by a dealer before i bought it. guessing i need to get one to install after the MPS is installed.
Did some searching and found a thread where a guys had his pulley fall off after a year, thats crazy since it press fit.
What is the main purpose of this breather nut and could there be any damage from not having it one?

2000 GTP if that makes a difference

zzp mps comes with push tree type clip. the bolt will not fit any more cause it cant clear the pulleys bolts.

if you bought a new mps from zzp it comes with the push tree. push it in the shaft end. thats it.

and if the mps was to ever come off the shaft its not because the bolt was missing. they had bigger issues at hand.

ahhh, the nut will fit on that brand. i got em myself and use the nut. not the end of the world tho. the push clip can only be there to protect the threads, same as the nut.

Is that the only purpose is to protect the threads?

I will just buy one and be done.

Yikes, same thing happened to me 10 years ago.
Hopefully you put the anti-seize on it and it should come out super easy.

I drilled a pilot hole, dead center with a baby drill and used a small finishing nail( 4d maybe?) tapped in snug. It spun right out

if you were to turn it the wrong way it would get loose and fall off lol theres more then one moving part, things need to be held still while you work the drive bolt or the nut on that bolt.

you let one part of the puller turn when installing it, only the nut cant turn thus pushing the hub on.

if it broke off while pulling the pulley, thats cause it was not supposed to be used yet. the threaded rod is for installing only.

off you use the little nub tip that centers the bolt.
