Dex 3 or 6 is fine... you likely won't notice a darn difference.
On to the shudder. If you add say Lucas, you'll notice it clearly thickens the fluid, lubegard is what most trans builders recommend including tripleedge. Now if Dave recommends it, you won't go wrong with it.
Reality is.. you notice an issue that is likely worn clutches. No magic in a bottle will fix it, it might mask it. I'd do a shift kit and a can of magic, do a little dance around the car (looks a lot like a rain dance, but it's really a "please keep working" dance") then top if off and drive it gently.
Cause we all know I drive gently. (Hence why I bought a driveshaft for the Audi today)
I picked up a while bottle of Lucas. Planned on doing it over the weekend, but did not get around to it. Will be doing it this weekend. I just need it to be in the healthiest shape for when it gets boosted.
having tranny problems and your top swapping? lol have fun with that.
Cause we're not Brandon and most of us will never attempt to rebuild one ourselvesand I'm 1000% sure subway guy doesn't have the knowledge to do it himself

Just cause you can blow trannys doesn't mean you can fix em
Bill's also thrown into the mix of guys that I'm sure can rebuild there own.

I would not use additives since they are not always helpful or compatible with Tranny fluid...just me. You don't mention how many miles are on the fluid in the car now nor how many miles are on the tranny? Dexron VI clearly is a superior fluid to III but obviously Dexron III will work as well with the 4T65E. Dexron VI is about $4/quart at Walmart for Supertech compared to Supertech Dexron III @ $2/qt. I would not go for the more expensive name brand full synthetics Dexron VI unless you plan on using a long duration drain interval which I would not recommend with these trannies. Supertech like most Dexron VI's is a synthetic blend, not a pure synthetic. I have been using Supertech Dexron VI now for about 8 years and 100,000 miles in my tranny (4T65E is coming up on 190K with zero issues). I change my fluid and filter every 20,000 miles (I would not go more than 30K miles between tranny fluid/filter changes if you want long trouble free miles...not changing the fluid/filter often can be a fatal /expensive mistake to the tranny) religiously with Dex VI but you can save the $15 difference by using Dex III @ Walmart. The most important point is to change the fluid AND filter often which pretty much negates the whole issue of which fluid to use Dex III or VI....both will work with Dex VI (for $15 more for a fluid change) in theory being better.

So I have decided I'm gonna install a transmission cooler over summer. But the videos and write-ups I read still aren't painting a pretty picture. My question is, what lines do you splice into? I've seen guys remove the feed lines from the radiator, but then what do you do with the hole in the rad? I just need someone to straight up say where to tap into.
Now Scott said that since I live in a cold state, I don't want the coldest option available. I'm still gonna mount it in the very front, but still not sure which lines to tap into.
put the cooler in the return line, how hard is that to figure out? cut the line add the line to the cooler, then the cooler out line to the other side of the line you cut. you can cut more line off to make things hook up smoother.
the how to you did found on a gxp is the same tranny, same how to.
Did you bother to check out brandons little how to.. He documented it very well, run standalone screw having the radiator in the equation bypass all of that, if needed in the winter stick a piece of cardboard in front of the cooler to block airflow.. Mission accomplished
