its only a matter of time before this thread gets locked so here goes:

this should be a forum for GP owners only, seems like every month or so there is a terminator, or a jap car talking smack about the GP, its getting old fast. to come here and say you run 10's on the street and the GP is junk because you have the original 4g63 plus awd and youre a distant relative to the skyline is just stupid.do you also live life a quarter mile at a time? you sound like an 18 year old kid who bought a car from a guy on ebay with a big flashy ad saying TURBO! AWD!!! . you're right my GP is junk, i have leather, HUD. moonroof, heated seats. hows that cloth interior and automatic seat belts treating you? i only go in the 12's and trap 105 consistently on stock timing and 10 pounds of boost, silly me i should downgrade to a car 15 years older than mine.

well like I stated before this wasnt a thread about what my car is or isnt, but if you must all be proven wrong then so be it.

the 6g galant vr4 was the very first mitsu with the 4g63t. it is not based off the dsm. it is not a dsm. it is purely built by mitsu in japan. the 4g63 has remained for the most part the (flame all you want) one of the best 4 cylinder motors ever made. there is no part of my car that is rice. maybe calling it a race car is a stretch, but but it is without a dought a fully balanced performance car. In 1992 mitsu decided that the name GALANT was to be more family oriented and began to for it into the larger cars they are today. they then changed the 6g playforms name to LANCER. there is a 1992 galant vr4 Evolution, and then a 1993 lancer Evolution. the word 'Evo' even comes from the vr4. everything mechanically and from a mod point is the same between an evo 1 and a vr4. the differences between an evo 1 and evo 3 are minimal. so galant vr4,evo 1,2,3 all the 'equal' starting bases.
so when I say it is the same as an Evo im not BSing, it was just a simple break down for those of you who dont know. (as you shouldnt because this is a GP site)

as far as you are thinking you are cool for finding the only vr4 forum, good job. there hasnt been a modlist update on there at all in a very long time. everything off the old vr4 is now just used for parts, or sold. you are missing the 2 years in between, when I built a 20g 1650 lb mirage.

as far as being a performance car, it only matters as to what your competition is, like what you are being compared to.

personally i have done all the following.
out driven civic hatches in the turns
    beat c6s from a launch
out ran a lambo on the interstate
out performed subies in the snow

now before you rant about that list, it has no proof or anything, it is simply stating that the mitsu is a well rounded performance car, and can out perform other widely excepted performance cars 'at their own game'

now for all of you that have just learned a lot about my car, you will see that you were just talk bs on the very first Evo......no one can argue what an evo can do.

now back on topic. I never said GPs were dumb. I never said get rid of your car, and I never said not to mod it. I never said dont go out to race it. love your car, passion about a car is great. I simply said to be careful on how you think about your car, and put it into perspective. if this doesnt apply to you, then your reply is irrelevant. I have met so many people, after owning a GP, that are like man these things are so fast...right? and then I have to be like no....sorry buddy your car is slow. you guys are a good group, and I have always like the GPs so just consider this thread the next time you want to tell everyone your car is fast.

oh and the purpose of this thread. 1 to help keep you from becoming a stereotyped group like neon have. 2 because I was bored.

You're saying you're making more power/weight than a car that produces 550+ hp and weighs 3600 lbs maybe?

    lambos arent about being fast.

they're about being obnoxious sports cars.

more mis information to be corrected.
it has full leather, power sunroof/locks/windows, ac, 6 speaker stereo, and auto seat belts are sweet, I never forget to buckle. and this is how all vr4s came stock from factory. (sunroof is an option). unlike the GP who can be had with no options and cloth interior.

but that is more irrelevance. I never said your car is a POS, I have time and time again stated that the GP is good for what it is, I loved cruising around in mine.

Thanks for the complete history lesson on your particular piece of Jap crap. You're obviously the authority on 4g63.12528's.

Actually, you could probably consider a GP a race car. They were run in Nascar for quite a few years.

But seriously, no one is claiming to have a race car/dd out of a GP. They are just like any other car, a car. People like to mod and make there car different from all of the others on the road. If you don't want to mod yours, fine. Personally, I think most Mitsu's are jokes. That is my opinion. If you don't want to see people mod GP's, don't spend time on a GP forum.

    Yawn.....

Thanks for your opinion OP. I'm not interested, my car is a fun DD. Not everyone here thinks they have a fast car or wants one. Many come here to maintain and keep a good running car in top shape. Grow up, you knew what your post would do when you typed it.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

this thread was started after a discussion in turbo tech, when I urged someone not to blow up their car. and no i just got done banging my cousin, good one.

as far as a mod list you can see it after I run you. it changes by the day, I just got the new vr4 recently when I got rid of the mirage, so it gets new stuff everytime I get paid. but it will be at least a 20g with all mods. like I said before, im always down for cruisin and racing around pitt, and unfortunately you guys went and took this personally and try to counter with cheap shots.

Is it just me, or does the OP remind you of the guy from "Employee of the Month" .... This is an 89 Honda, HOW DARE YOU???

I have never rolled my eyes or face-palmed so many times in 1 thread. I will say that his Galant VR4 WAS a nice performance car, back when it was new. Like the Lambo Countach WAS a fast car, and the Ferrari F-40 WAS the sexiest thing next to an Indy car.... but we've all had improvements and have all moved on to bigger better things. I wonder how many Porsche drivers get on to a Enzo forum to tell of how theyre older 911SC's out ran the Enzo down the highway, forgetting that the Ezno driver was knuckle deep into his hot passenger and never noticed the "race" that went on idiots
