Looks like i'll very shortly be leaving the 3800 scene. Invested so much money into my Grand Prixs and for the money, it's just not worth it anymore. Just kind of bored with em and just ready for something new. More than likely still be around, but just not as a 3800 owner. Hopefully if one of the cars sells soon i'll be picking up a 92 Galant VR4 (commence the hate!) as I want something that's decently quick stock, factory turbo, and standard 5speed. AWD and all wheel steer is def a plus. Hopefully one of them sells soon so I can pick it up. If not, i'll be looking to step into something rwd/awd v8 or factory turbo with standard 5/6 speed trans. Just bored of the automatic boat that doesn't handle worth a ****. Want to have fun from time to time in my daily. Would like to do other sorts of driving rather than just straight line racing. Not to say I want to auto x or drift. Just have an all around car to daily and have fun with while doing ya know. Lets face it, a GP is a one trick pony

Anyhow, sorry for the rant. If anyone is interested in either GP, I posted them on ClubGP. Don't really care to post on every 3800/gp site so i'll just direct you there

GMPP, GR2, SSIC, 255/50/17's, poly sway bar/control arm bushings. Handles fine, but not quite what i'm looking for. Not to mention, not the only thing i'm wanting to sell it for. Fuel economy is ****, I live in CA and i'm tired of smogging it illegally cause it won't pass, etc

Here's the thing though. As i've been telling a lot of my friends who keep trying to get me to keep em. Yeah, I can get my car to have a bullet proof trans, yeah I can make it out handle a lot of cars, so on and so forth. I'm just done justifying spending money on it. Bored of it, plain and simple. Have well over 10k invested in the GTP alone. L32, 3.29 gears on a freshly rebuilt trans, exhaust work from headers back, pretty much nothing stock on the car and not a single bolt that hasn't been unturned. I'm lucky to see a 14.5?! What a joke haha. Maybe you west coast guys will have better luck with elevation, better fuel, and cooler weather. But here in CA, that's way too much money for a Eaton that gets heat soaked in a matter of minutes. V8/turbo or GTFO pretty much is how I feel now.

One of the big gripes I also get about some of the other cars i've looked at is "well that car is really expensive to maintain" NOTHING is expensive when you've literally payed over $2000 every year on a new transmission for a mid 14 sec car. And yes, i've been through 5 transmissions on the GTP. Done with it, sorry to offend anyone. Love the motors, just over everything else

yeah i miss mine to, Someday i'll get to drive her again, shes been sitting for over a year. tires probably have flat spots, but i've been beating the snot out of my car for 3years and my trans doesnt even slip, and it has a good amount of power since its a high 13 second car. only thing i keep snapping is driveshafts.... lol to many 2500rpm take offs. i honestly miss burning the tires on my front wheel drive car, i meant dont get me wrong my 11second Z is fun, But after driving it non stop for 4 months im bored, as well. every year its the same, but every year i drop a second in the times. its been through 3 transmissions so i know how you feel, I finally said F that and built my own, and i beat on it and its the best trans ever, just find something you like, buy a dirt cheap LT1 fbody and have some fun

Yeah, I know we can go back and forth for hours. Like I said, love the community for the most part, love the motors. Just bored of everything else. Now I don't neccesarily hate the cars, but have 2 of my own and work on 2 of my friends GTP's none stop. I need change.

As for Fbody, def not on the list. As much as it makes me cringe, i'm leaning torwards Mitsus/subis on the 4banger side, and *sigh* mustangs on the v8 side

If I had the money, def would. Considering I probably won't even get 5k for something i've invested more than double into; it's pretty much slim pickin's

sorry to hear you go. but you do know if you want a galant vr4 youre gonna have a worse time with em. dsm's are a pain in the ass if youre knew to em. plus id like to add that maybe you didnt spend enough on the suspension. there are much more upgrades for it that werent that expensive. but all seriousness a wrx is the way to go. hell i seen a 04 sti go for 11k with 98k on the odometer. now if im not mistaken these didnt have much options but hella good deal. but yeah id say with your budget id go with a dsm. i do miss my 91 talon tsi awd. 6 bolt ftw.

Common missconception.. Galant isn't a DSM. By all means, try and find a DSM stamp on one. You won't... Guaranteed. It was imported straight from Japan. 2000 in 91 and 1000 in 92.

I have a rough idea of the 4g63, know a guy who has a 10 second talon. He'll pretty much be my guru in a sense haha. He also owns a 3000GT VR4 and has a few spare motors lying around his shop/garage.

That all being said. Car will remain relatively stock. Maybe charge pipe, clutch, and some other small stuff. But it'd be hard to break a low 15 second car.

0 miles, untouched? Doubtful... Junkyard motors, sure. i myself for a while had 2. That all being said though. I'm pretty much done with modding cars right now so I won't have to worry about blowing motors as long as I keep up with maintainance

What makes you want the Galant VR4 over a DSM? I myself would love to have a 2G GSX, or TSi for that matter. Crank walk scares me though lol.

I know how you feel though, I threw an L32 in my 98 GTP when a shop blew my L67. I have a Gen V 3.6 setup now and my best run is 14.4. I know, I can't drive but I have well over 10k in my car for a 14 and a half second car. On a good week I get 15-16 mpg city. The 30 highway is nice but I go on the highway at most one time a month. Paint is now in bad shape, clear is damn near gone. My plan is save for a GTO next year

Same. Not too big on the 4g63 rep, but I doubt I'd have much worry with a stock car. As for the VR4 over say a GSX or TSi... Few reasons. Don't really care for the styling on the eclipse. All the ones i've ever seen that aren't rediculously expensive are beat to ****. They tend to ALWAYS be modified (refuse to buy a modified car for personal reasons). and lastly, a Galant VR4 isn't a run of the mill car like a Camaro/Firebird, or Civic/Integra.

go subbie, ill be joining the community in a few years. look into legacy gts. 2.5 turbo similar to wrx power and modding capability, but in a "grown up" package. its got a longer wheel base than imprezas but can still auto x fairly well. and evan if you dont mod or race youll still have a sophisticated looking car with some pep in the drive train.

    Get a Corvette,
But really if i had the cash for an extra car or something new it would either be a 98-02 Trans am, with WS6 or Ram Air, Or I would find a Mustang. I just hate Asian cars.... I mean no offence to anyone who has one but its just not my style. I tend to favor cars I know wont go speeding off and no way to stop them besides hitting another car or object.
