mine were nuts on studs holding the ac to the bracket. top hole is missing the stud, it came out on the nut. so in the pile it went. why you dont see a bolt there in my pic.

the bolts are close to the pulley, but a socket will reach and fit.

I didnt notice that tag until i got home. the guy assured me it was working and was returned from a shop where the customer back out. Im very suspicious at this point put the worst that could happen is it doesnt work i take it back and get part of my money back or another one.

Well. That's odd. I know when a shop rebuilds a trans it's required to paint it. Or at least I been told so. or it could be a core.

or the shop called the junkyard for a used trans, had it shipped. Customer then wanted a rebuild and sent this back

I wanted to verify the exhaust manifold to downpipe nuts are located underneath the car toward the upper middle section? I have a 3 inch extension but its not giving me enough leverage to keep the socket on while i turn. Do i need a longer extension not sure thatll even help, this ones a toughy but then again anything is without the right tool. maybe theres an obvious solution before i drive out just to get some extensions.

yeah longer extension will help. those bolts the heads tend to strip or break, if they do its no big deal really.

Those extensions did the trick. I have no clue what and where the shifter cable, selector arm and trans range connectors (step25-26), can anyone point them out?

you got a black cable, loops around the engine bay to the lever, look down from the master cylinder to the side back corner of the tranny, you'll see it.

in your pic here, the far left of the pic, see the 3 inch high shaft with the nut a top it, thats where the lever is.

Thanks for that Scotty. Im all done with the steps very stoked to lift either tmrw or this weekend. A question came to mind when doing the last step. I noticed the right rside of transmission seems to be booted to a bracket that may or maynot be attached to frame but it looked like it maybe. Making sure i dont have to remove those two bolts before lifting theyre athe the top right under the white tag

    heres the right pic

That's the transmission mount. It needs to unbolted from the cradle

Thanks crazy ill do a walk around and try and see if theres anything else attaching stuff. Besides this couple are there other bolts still connecting components to frame that arent mentioned in tutorial?

Two 15mm nuts should have come off the top of the bracket in the wheel well. It's your trans mount.

BTW.. the instructions didn't say unplug that relay. All good.. just an extra step
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Got it. For step 26 the trans range connector switch part, did I cover this when disconnecting selector and removing bracket that was holding it? Also am I supposed to remove all the bolts that connect the trans to engine, the ones still located in above pic.

EDIT. those bolts are part of the trans...lol they def dont connect to the engine. Im still wondering about that trans connector though. Maybe its not in my car just a the 97-99? not sure if thats what is meant.

leave the engine and tranny bolted together, lay it on the floor for scrapping the good parts off it.

you will want to mate the new tranny and engine before installing it.

you know what, i bet you need your torque converter bolts, with the starter out, look in the hole, put a socket on the crank bolt in the balancer and turn the engine if you can still. as you turn it you'll see 3 bolts, remove them, you'll need them for the new engine.

if your engine is locked up, you'll need to buy new tc bolts.
