    Bought HPT pro couple days ago and with vcm scanner will not show timing advance...tried adding it though PID and there isn't even a advance drop down like there is with my silverado....hooked it up to silverado and its reading timing just fine...my friends HPT scanner has been hooked up to this multiple times and has always worked fine...I got most recent update still nothing....please help need to tune this xp cam

    You must be logging it in the table display for it to show it in the gauges or charts.

    It doesn't show up in table even when I try to add it...the whole advance section is missing

    Go to open config file, click default and it will be there.

    It's always there on the default, you can even delete it from the primary table and then right click and insert > pid > engine > advance > timing SAE.

    Post the .cfg file

    So through the default I was able to go to histogram settings and make it work but half the other crap stopped working this is quickly turning into a pain

    Very odd, my hpt scanner doesnt even have an IDLE for the pid list. Perhaps 04+ got a new setup that 97-03 didnt use.

    It's just general, airflow, advance, tq mngt and emission.

    Are you sure it's not like listed under general or something else on your screen??

    Yeah I have looked in like every section...i emailed tech support and they shot me back something to try so I give it a try tomorow...got a WB on the way so hopefully can get all this cleared up before that gets here

    Hmm.

    What else really grinds my gears about HPT is that you always have to go out and connect to the vehicle you want to make changes on for a config file. Because if you clear the most recent vehicle under that tab it will just revert back to the default and show a million unsupported crap and you can't edit anything without starting over from scratch. I really really wish they would just allow you to open whatever config you want and then just start editing it from there.

    That's why you make a seperat hpt folder in place of the default one on your computer so you can have exactly what you want
