my weimaraner i had. (my dog) lived to 12, had a brain tumor. ( the vet was like its a shame, hes in great shape) he looked and acted like he was 5 still. heres the thing. labs like most large dogs, all the long play time is out of them by 2 years old. not a weim. (hunting dog) he would go all day and night.

one reason he got ran 2 to 3 times a day till he quit bringing the ball back lol tired dogs are good dogs.

Weim's are definitely full of energy. My lab was a beast and definitely full of energy well after 2 years old. I would play tug of war with him and he would drag my ass around. LOL

My sister rescued a mut. Damn thing is the most boring dog ever. Lmao. Doesn't play at all. Just begs for attention or lies on the floor and sleeps.

my weim had a boxed head. hes 9 or 10 in this pic. just a little white under his jaw. the only tell tail sign of his age.

Labs are fun and smart dogs based on the ones I've known. Fairly cool individuals. Some don't care to swim and fetch though. All I've had personally was a cat who lived to be old enough to vote. Resting peaceful for a decade now. With pets, you never really know what you're signing up for do ya? Fleas- well in the country sometimes an infestation just has to run it's course kinda like ants do.

He had a massively square head. Definitely a smart ass dog too. He was outside most of the time. Had him on a cable run that was about 20' long (maybe longer) with a chain about 10' long so he could still run around since we didn't have a fence.

Anyway, I had some pizza crust or something and walked on the back porch and threw it down to him. It just missed reaching his area and he started reaching for it stretching himself out almost choking himself. I started down toward him so I could grab the crust and give it to him and before I could reach him he spun around and grabbed the crust with his rear paws and kicked it to himself.

once i broke up with my ex i took the dog. and had to run one of them cable lines across the yard. i had a harness for him in the beginning cause i knew he was gonna try and bolt if he saw some thing. well, he took off and ran top speed for a cat or something and he went for a ride at the end of the cable lol he had to be 6 feet off the ground lol. there were like 5 of us who all watched and then laughed so damn hard after we saw he was ok.

he never did that again lol
