I voted for Obama because I believe he offered the country a better option to fix many of the problems that arouse over several administrations. We can blame Pres. Bush, but others will quickly point out - "But there was a Democratic majority in place!" Some will blame Clinton era policies. But guess what? Republican majority in the House and Senate. No one wants to accept blame, but they sure will point fingers at others!
Obama is our President. You may not like him, or the Democratic Congress. But that's what we have for the next four and two years, respectively. Every two years, the House can be changed, and of course 1/3 of the Senate. So if you don't like it, get out and vote in two years to make a change. Who knows? The economy could take off, we find Bin Laden, pull out of Iraq and clean out the Taliban. If nothing gets accomplished, vote the bums out!
Running mate wise, Palin scared me way more than Biden. If Obama wins again in four years, Biden won't be running in 8 - he'd be 73, older than McCain is now. And Biden next to Cheney, Biden at least can smile, as freaky as it looks.![]()
I'm against Obama for simple reasons. Our country was founded by those who wanted to get away from large overbearing governments. The idea was that the states govern themselves, and the federal government governs the states. Not that the federal government is there to fix all our little problems whether we like it or not.
I don't make enough money to be affected by Obama's tax policies, but I find them offensive. Take more money from someone who had done well for themselves, then give it to someone else? Yes, taxation is the responsibility of every American, but why are we giving back to some people then? Isn't that absolving them of their responsibility? And taxation is for the purpose of funding the government. It is not meant to be used for handouts. Life isn't perfect. Some people need to learn to deal with that instead of asking the government to fix it for them.
Our federal government is large enough. It doesn't need to grow. Ever been to a country where the government plays a large part in health care? It's not something to write home about. But, oh somehow Obama is going to fix what countless other countries are failing at. We're America and we can do everything right. I love this country, but some people get such a head about themselves they don't learn from others and past mistakes.
And don't get me started on him wanting to cut back the military by 25%. My shop is already under 50% required manning as it is, and 12 hour shifts without any over time is not fun at all.
My response to most of Obama's policies:
/rant
Let it be clear since some people (not necessarily here) want to go in this direction, I have no problem with his ethnicity. I am probably as white as they come. Yet, I have black friends who were emotional that a black man was able to become president, and I'm happy for them. One of my buds is about to have his first child, a little girl. He said "Now I can one day look my little girl in the eyes and tell her she can be anything she wants to be, and know in my heart it is the truth." For these reasons I am glad the election turned out the way it did.
But only for those reasons.
X2. All Ive heard is B***K Power all day today. Some was yelling this from a car window, while im not racist by any means but why try to put color into the equation? The man has the same skin color as when you mix chocolate and vanilla pudding together., so there is no true "race" or "color" to say "we have the power now".![]()
I'm gonna keep this short and sweet as this has been a subject at work all day.
Obama is a non american cock sucking son of a ***** period. Prove me wrong somebody? He won't say the pledge of allegiance which is wrong in so many ways. Never has a president been like this and in my opinion this alone should disquailify him. Might as well vote in Osma Bin Laden for office now. Another thing, in the future he wants to get rid of our amendments one by one, everything the constition was written and stood for back in the 1700s. Before long this place will be like England. This is exactly why we came here, to break away from that ****. But no, Americans are stupid. That was proven last night and has been proven many times over in the last few years.
And no, i'm not a part of a single party either. So no, I really wasn't for McCain either, but I wanted him verses Bin Ladens brother. What do you want, a ****ing presdent or a Zar? Enough of this crap. I said what I need to say and I spoke to truth. Take it for what its worth, say that i'm wrong. But the people who have been REALLY following this daily on none biased networks and radio knows exactly what i'm talking about.
Between foreign car buyers and a terrorist elected into office this country couldn't be in any worse shape now.
Since I got off on a tangent, this reminded me to say I wasn't exactly happy with that option either. But, at least he had the vague general ideas down for how things should go. Just needed help on the finer details.
Instead, we're going blind in the opposite direction.![]()
Pisses me the f*ck off. I went into the store today and was buying my a beef jerky and a coffee. The lady behind the counter felt the need to bring up the subject by saying...
"Aren't you just so happy Obama won and things are finally going to change?"
All I did was simply look at her and reply...
"No."
Then she accused me of being a racist. I hate the fact that no one can dislike, or disagree with that dumb f*ck poor excuse for a president without everyone automatically assuming it's "Because he's black". F*ck you, and f*ck Obama, b*tch.
........I just hope that each person that voted actually did study the official docket of each canidate. and I pray that they actually voted for the canidate that meets their needs/wants.
not just for a "change".
and now I pass a lesson from when I used to go to church. Prey that our nations leaders make morale, profitable, adn healthy choices that will affect the public general population (I would say american but they affect so many more).
GOD HELP US ALL!
They didn't, which is why I'm leery of the "get out and vote" mentality. Let the informed people who are educated on the subjects and candidates who want to vote vote. Not the person on the street who doesn't know more than skin color and a name on a ballot.
Something I'll always remember from my teacher in a college political science class. "I'd rather 10,000 informed people vote, than 1 million uninformed."
We have to put up with this s**t for the next 4 years....maybe? Just wait.... he'll slip up in a speech and say "This country is - Muhammad jihad allah Dirka-dirka burka-burka - a great nation... blah blah blah. His true beliefs and followings will come out. Oh and dont be suprised once he gets into office he will go back to the same racist preacher at the church he went to for the past 20 years. This all is one big f**k up. Trust me all my guns will stay loaded for the next 4 years.
The amount of disgust people have for Obama frightens me more than anything else. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii. If he was not a natural born citizen, would he really have even been CONSIDERED as a possible candidate? Wouldn't Fox news, that fair and balanced network, been ALL OVER this if he wasn't? He is an American, period.
Can you point to me a source where Obama has said, "I will roll back the amendments." That's going to be quite a challenge, see as how only one amendment has been overturn - and it TAKES an amendment to do that.
What are your "non biased" radio and TV sources?
Ignorance IS bliss, I guess.
That's because the people who are most racist are the ones that are quick to jump on others without founded fact.
People had felt the same way when Bush was elected (both times I may add) and it never was that big of a deal. Tread water my friend, because we're ALL in trouble if this divides the country even more on the racial line because of people who "want" to eliminate it.
CoughJesseJacksonAlSharptonCough
sorry, had a frog in my throat
First, you say he's going to suddenly convert to Islam. Well, not really convert but his "true beliefs" which I assume would be Islam. Then, you say he'll go back to Rev. Wright, a Christian minister. Um, if he converted to Islam, why would he go to a church?
One more comment about Islam. You DO know the current US Ambassador to the UN, chosen by Pres. Bush, is a Muslim.
We shouldn't be focusing on his name sake, his skin color, his associations, etc.
We should be focusing on his policies and ideas to run this country. There's enough to cement his failure right there.
[QUOTE=Deezul_AwT;101098] Rev. Wright, a Christian minister. Um, if he converted to Islam, why would he go to a church?/[QUOTE]
A man who says. it shouldnt be God bless America, it should be God damn America. and you have the gaul to call him a Christian? I dont know what you were taught about christian beliefs, but I think you need to find a new teacher. Oh and the Islam comment I knew that the UN ambass, is muslim. Do I have anything against muslims...NO. Muslim extreamists/terrorists, then yes.. ive got a problem. For someone who should be thankful that you have men and women fighting overseas so you can rest your head at night and keep the right to say what you think, not what someone wants you to say, you show no reguard for the blessing of our troops and the right to be free at all! Bush ddi what any red blodded American would have done...gotten pissed and wanted to kick some a$$. Would you rather have Obama give them flowers and say its ok lets make up? America isnt know as the land of the Pansies..You want to live like that, go live in France. Will Obama do ok? Its possible..but the route he's going... Not likely. Another note to think about, once Bush leaves office..People are going to start blaming Obama for the economy and the war because he's gonna crack under the pressure of not having any experience, and make the wrong decisions not for other countries like Pakistan or China ( who love him cause they know he's gonna screw up), but for the American people.
