My supercharger blew a bubble. Yeah, i'm not even kidding. I'm out in the garage working on the engine and i happen to glance down at the snout and pulley and at the end of the bolt/nut holding the pulley on, there is a bubble forming and it is getting bigger. My hands are loaded in tans fluid so i'm searching for a rag trying to clean my hands and grab my phone to snap a pic when the bubble pops. Yeah, wtf. Its humid out so i assume it has to do w/ that.
if you had it set up pulley down case on to the rotors still it can leak out the shaft end, when on the engine the fluid level dont get that high, it just gets splashed around by the gears in there. so drain it. clean i put it on the shelf till your ready for it.
Got the greatest surprise of this build so far...so I cant ID particular model year engines by subtle changes in parts used. What i can tell in my research is that in 97-03 model years the 03 trans had a diff pressure manifold solenoid. So when i cracked open the side cover of my "03" engine/trans project today, to my dismay, i found it has the 97-02 solenoid. So the guy i bought it from misrepresented it as an 03. Tried calling him to confront him on it, no answer. Good news is, motor and trans have all been clean so far....

Got the shift kit installed tonight. Side cover off. Things look good there. Chains measured out ok. 4th gear replaced. Pics to follow.
Broken spring inside what I believe was called the 4th gear accumulator...
4th gear, kind of a crappy pic, but you get the idea.

Was it something i said? Dead thread. Waiting on a channel plate gasket and different pressure manifold solenoid to finish the trans up. Then get the top end back on and drop it in.
Working on the TB. Need quick answers if possible... Can i eliminate this "tower structure" for the MAF and just leave that MAF hole at the top or does the whole thing have to stay? There is a plate on the back i removed w/ two phillips screws and the MAF hole goes thru and this plate seems to channel the air it senses down and out the back. I'd have to get rid of that plate too so the air would flow straight thru the MAF.

if you did anything with the throttle body you'd switch to the 99+ MAF sensor and completely knock out that center section and clean it all up. porting the throttle body is pretty easy, but you're almost guaranteed to break through the casting and have to fill in places with epoxy/jb weld/etc.
but as stated, you'll have to get the car tuned for it or it'll run all kinds of dumb.
