Yeah, I'm up in NC for about 2/3 of the year. It's been down into the single digits, tho it's been rather warm this last week unit this last storm went through, dusting of snow, but lots of sleet and ice.
Plans are to get the Cam in, swap my 8-rib setup, fullsize gen V intercooler, tiny pulley, injectors and tuning.
Then once the Tranny goes boom, cry and stuff.
stock trans? no input shaft or drive chain?
what size pulley? why not get a belt wrap, cheaper and easier, do you have bigger fuel pump? your gonna need it, along with rewire and voltage booster
p.s. do you have any axle vibrations with your ssc springs?
Stock trans because that's how I roll. Planning on getting a built trans, not sure when tho.
Pulley will be determined by tuning. Probably a 3.0-2.8.
No belt wrap kit because I already had the 8-rib setup from years past on my old car (plus 8-rib looks way better than the 6 rib, though I may get the wrap kit later) Bigger fuel pump, no. Rewire and booster, yes.
I get no axle vibration with the SSC's at all. (Stock 88,000 mile struts, SSC Springs, anti-pogo washers, stock dogbones, and axle-trans mount spacers)
Whoo! Go stock trans!haha
**** YEAH!
It's okay though. I just rebuilt the wagon's 4L60E with all upgraded parts! That count's right??
haha! Wanna play who can make their trans live the longest with me![]()
Most boost/power + longest living trans wins!![]()
Alright. I'll get mine to spin 15lbs once, then park it. We'll play the waiting game.
so you ended up using trans mount spacers? how do the stock struts hold up? bounce a lot?
Yes, I used a trans mount spacer, and engine mount spacer. Struts are doing okay. Doesn't bounce unless you hit a pretty bad bump, and it settles back out pretty quickly.
Put the cam in. Didn't take too many pics, cause I was trying to get it all done in 1 sitting (which I did, took about 10hours all together, that's including going out for dinner)
Also, very impressed with my little impact. About 10seconds of hitting it back and forth, and it bam, it was off.
Also, very impressed with that 3/8 to 1/2 HF adapter. Now the 1/2 to 3/8 was another story (broke the first time I used it)
Today I debadged the side emblems. I think it looks good.
It got a really quick cleaning, nothing good since tomorrow I'll be driving 1000miles.
Cam is awesome-o (still on a stock tune) you can def. tell it's cammed at idle. Pulls much better on the top end, and killed all the knock I was getting. Very pleased with it.
I want your grillllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssss s.
Yay cam! !!
