I don't know if anyone has ever put one on a GP...

But HF won't ship anything to AK. Not a single little tool. Kinda depressing...

Any auto parts stores in your area? They usually have basic dual trumpet air horns.

List of problems just keeps growing... Lol

Now I've got a valve cover leak, on top of the oil pan leak... I've lost barely any oil, so they aren't that big of an issue, but my engine bay isn't looking too pretty right now.

Yes, it's the valve cover that the dealership "fixed" with the recall. It didn't leak for the 95,000 miles it drove before the recall, but 1,000 miles after the recall it starts leaking.

I think I'm upset enough to take it back, but I don't want to deal with their retardation...

I know how you feel! Just had the same thing happen to my 02 gp. Took it apart myself and found they had over-torqued it and used some sort of grease to hold the gasket in place. The grease caused swelling in the gasket and eventually a leak. Used felpro gaskets and torqued to spec. No more leak!

I'm upset that the engine is now dirty... I'm seriously considering taking it back and forcing them to fix it properly, and clean the engine bay while they're at it.

It'd be easy to fix it myself, but I don't know when I'll have time to do it.

When I finally get time to. Lol

It's still running like a beast. Never worry about it getting me to work on time.

Oh, and I finally bought a new horn. Still too cold to install it.

Either the repair I did to the driver's side front hub wiring has broken again, or I'm due for new hubs all around.

But since Christmas is right around the corner and I'm hosting Thanksgiving for a large group of single soldiers in the barracks, the damn turd is gonna have to wait. Which sucks, cuz things are starting to pile up.

Inner and outer tie rods are starting to go loosey goosey, and the lateral links are starting to look real nasty by now. Trans is starting to give me attitude more frequently now that it's cold, I've got a stack of gaskets to replace, and then all the little details that I've been putting off since it started getting cold...

It's looking like I'm going to park it for a bit while I get all the parts together and just get it all done in one shot.

But somehow the damn turd still runs just fine and goes down the road straight. For now, at least.

Good luck! Not trying to sound like a plug here, but I've got three out of four hubs brand new in box I'd be willing to sell if you're interested. Lol

Good job so far though. Looks really nice!

    Thanks!

After this morning I might have even more work to do... I hit a small patch of ice and slid sideways over some train tracks before straightening out and going directly into a ditch. Well, partly into the ditch. I got high centered on the snow bank on the side of the road, and only one wheel started to dip into the ditch.

Luckily, in my profession if anyone sees a car on the side of the road with hazards on they'll immediately stop and help. I had 3 pickups stop in the middle of the road to help within 2 minutes of me getting stuck. One had the tow strap, one helped me clear snow out from under the rear bumper to get the strap connected, and the third actually pulled me out.

My car definitely tried to go deeper into the ditch as he was pulling me out, but eventually it cooperated and got back on the road.

I could tell immediately that my alignment is completely fubar'd, and I have a feeling there's a bent lateral arm. On top of the 50 lbs of snow packed into my bumper and probably radiator. But no major damage to anything, and no injuries. Just a lot of annoyance.

No offense, but I'm gonna hold off on hubs for a while, because right now steering and alignment is priority, then leaks, then the rest of the suspension, then the trans, THEN replace the hubs and probably axles as well.

So today has been fun... Lol

This has been a fun read. I've never seen a car with such a confident will to live before. Your car just toughs it out lol! Also, about that valve cover leak: call me crazy but I believe at some point they've recalled both covers so if you didn't know that or if the dealer let it slip by I thought I'd just throw that out there. I had both done during the last recall even though the notices for my car only listed one - despite the actual recall for any valve cover never being documented. Speaking of that, did they take your engine cover away as part of that work? My dad had a 04 GT and the dealer literally stole the cover saying it was apart of the recall lol

Not sure about the gtps, but the n/a the rear valve cover, both gaskets, spark plug routing, spark plug clips, and the cover were mandatory.

The front cover I found a black one to match the rear one off a newer Buick lacrosse I think.

The dealership refused to do my rear valve cover, only did the front. I had also taken off my engine cover already and had it sitting in my basement. lol

But they screwed up the job anyways, and now it's actually leaking onto the exhaust manifold... smells terrible. lol
