In order to save some time, and because I'm not a master mechanic, I brought it to our local gm dealer to have someone give me there opinion. He told me it was definitely the lifters, but if it was his car, he wouldn't fix it. Now again, I'm not a master mechanic, I do a lot of small engine stuff mainly. He said it could last forever this way, but to get it fixed would involve a new camshaft and would cost in total $1000+. What do you guys think? If it's just the lifter rattling, do you think it's critical, or is he right saying it could drive for 20 years like this?
