    oh to make it bounce put all your weight on the fender and push it down as hard as you can, then let it spring back on its own. then count the bounces.

    Chased mine for years, literally replaced everything in the front end. Finally got it down to the sub frame bushings. Changed them all with GM parts, now my clunk is gone and the car is really smooth.

    i have been hearing about those sub frame bushings too, what i need too do is have a chassis ear that will record the sound so i can pick it up and revew it, the clunk is so intermittent.

    This is a shot in the dark but does the noise happen if you brake really hard but ease off the brakes as you come to a complete stop - then when you accelerate and the suspension shifts weight off the front and onto the back *pop* or *click*?

    Mine does this and I'm really not sure where to look. New LCAs, sway bar links, struts and mounts up front.

    no the noise only happens when backing up or accelerating, and having the wheel turned makes the noise louder and assists bringing the noise out, it is one single clunk.
