What I do is when I take something off is to put bolts back in the holes they came from like the LIM or alt bracket ect. I did that and my dad as able to put the front vc and db bracket back on without ever touching a 3800 before by himself or having the internet.

It happens, when I did my vc gaskets I forgot to put the elbows back in and had to tear it apart again. That job took like 6 hours

    lmao! holy cow

those two long bolts could be the lower bolts for the alt bracket, do a test fit.

if you have a new gasket take the TB off and clean it up. use new gasket. nothing scary about it.

take your maf out first tho, nothing but maf cleaner should touch the maf or it "will" die.

The throttle body I used a whole can of TB cleaner on it with a tooth brush to clean it.

clean all that black crap in those pics. open the brass flap clean its sides and the walls.

carb and choke cleaner works. or brake cleaner.

Depending how bad it was, mine had so much buildup the throttle would stick closed. Also cleaning improved throttle response on my butt dyno

yes. even if you had TB cleaner you need to take the maf out of the TB or it will die......ONLY MAF CLEANER CAN TOUCH THE MAF.

you have a hacksaw? or a grinder with a thin blade? if so cut a slot across the security torx bolts, (thats the tool you need security torx bits ) and use a flat head screw driver to remove the bolts.

I'll pick up the right tool. Can I just put the TB on later and continue with reinstalling everything else?

I bought a set when I had to fix my xbox controller luckily it had one that fit the MAF or basically anything connected to the TB

Id put the TB on later, because might aswell clean it while its off. Same with the MAF if it hasnt been cleaned but only use MAF cleaner on that.
