I have the check engine on, replaced the crank sensor, I can hear the fuel pump turn on and the car still won't run.
Wife was driving the car then all of sudden the steering wheel got stiff and die out. After that the car won't turn on. So just so sum it all up.

    Battery: Good
    Alternator: Good
    Crank Sensor: Good
Fuel Pump: Good (I can hear it turn on)

    Anybody??? Any other Ideas???

have you taken a code reader to the car to see what the actual engine code is?

May not apply on your year, but on my 98 Monte Carlo I had an orange wire come loose behind the ignition switch in the steering wheel. Everything else was fine, but that stopped the car from starting. I don't remember anything more specific because that was quite a few years ago....

Use some starting fluid to try to start it and if it does start then you have a fuel issue. I've heard fuel pumps make noise but not make enough pressure to prime the system. Could be a bad pump.

Couldn't an extremely clogged fuel filter be the culprit as well?

ive also heard a rediculously clogged air filter can possibly cause it lol

Well I don't have a code scanner and obviously can't take the car to the auto store. I've put some air intake cleaner and it turned on for a couple of seconds. I've also tried the old fashion thing, hitting the fuel filter and and tapping on top and bottom of the fuel pump, since I can get to the fuel pump from the inside of the car, and still nothing.

How do I check for the spark? Do you think it might be the ignition coil?

if it started up with some spray, you have spark, test for fuel pressure at the rail.

standing at the bumper, just past the valve cover you should have a fuel rail with a plastic cap like a tire air stem, open it and you will see what looks like a tire air stem valve. you screw a pressure tester onto it and turn the key to run, the pump primes and the gauge will tell you how much pressure you have.

you could also try the fuel pump relay bypass trick, if this works it could be the fuel pump resistor.

this is the under hood fuse box.

thats for 97-00 GTP fuel pumps only. I dont think he can do that on his 04+ car.

Since you know the issue is fuel. Have some one turn the key from off to on while you listen to an injector for it making a few clicks. If you hear that, then your injectors are working and you are just not getting fuel from the pump.

If the injectors aren't working, I'd check the fuse.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

ok, so I've checked every single fuse and none of them are burned out, I've also switched around the relays and still nothing.
Since I don't have a pressure gauge I've put pressure on the rail with my finger and the a key, no fuel squirted out like on my Grand Am. (did the same thing and some fuel squirted out).
So what could it be now? I'm guessing not fuel pressure, but how do I go about getting pressure. Is that it?

It would appear your pump is not pumping.

if you have no pressure at the fuel rail then chances are the pump is dead.

so as long as I just replace the module in the fuel pump it would be ok, right?
(I did it for my Grand Am just replace the module inside fuel pump and it's working just fine)..
I rather spend about 50 - 60 bucks than 250 for the WHOLE fuel pump..

A few things can be happening here.
    1. Hose popped off fuel pump and it's running, but sending fuel in a circle.
    2. Your pumping air, in case..add fuel. Especially if the sender went bad.
    3. Your pump is bad
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
