Once I get jobbed up, I gotta get to modding quick. I think it's time to build a hit-list of what to do to the Prix.

I have a 2005 Grand Prix Base-model. Single outlet exhaust, I want to get a exhaust system (eventually a full header/hiflow cat/dual-straight 3"FTB system if I can EVER find the lower-bumper trim piece with dual exhaust cutouts) but once I get the chance ($$$) I'm just going to do a ubend + res delete, and maybe muffler delete for now.

So, yeah. Series III 3800/L26. I couldn't care less about apperance. Body kits, custom hoods, vinyl, etc be damned--the prix looks fine as she is. I just want to kill my boy's light-modded Bonneville SSEI with a ...what will hopefully soon grow to be a healthily-modded GP Base.

I want to get the forum's opinions on this, I've heard great things and read nothing but awesome threads here so far...this is my 2nd post (First was introductory, lol!) and...well, I figure the communal wisdom will guide me in the right direction.

Can't wait to hear from everyone!

since you have an 05' you don't need a u-bend delete, there isn't a u-bend in that factory d/p. Next is, how far do you want to take your car? how much money? $500? $5,000?

Beat a blown SSEI with a N/A GP? Top Swap or Turbo are the only way your going to do it.

I want to do a top swap once I'm off warranty (98k) but that wont be for a few years...not like I'd find top end parts for a SeriesIII anyway. Anyway right now I can run even with him up til about 70mph then he starts pulling away...so its not too impossible to think I could beat him with the right mods.

Well if you got a couple grand then lets see...

Custom Fenderwell Intake or TDC Racing FWI - $50-$150
    180* T-Stat - $10 or less
Autolite 605 Spark Plugs - $15 or less
PRJ or TDC Spark Plug Wires - $80-$120 I think...
Front Powerlog Manifold - $120 plus shipping
    3" Catted Downpipe - $200 ish
Whatever other catback you want to run - Your choice, or custom...$300+
    Tuned PCM (Overkill, Intense-Racing, 3800Performance DHP PCM) - $100-$300
TransGo Shift Kit - $100 ish
ZZPerformance HV3 Upper Insert - $200 or so...
    ZZPerformance 1.84:1 Roller Rockers - around $400
Intense-Racing Poly Upper and Lower Mounts - About !00 for both sets...

So there is your $1,500-$2,000 ish list of mods for a stock to lightly modded GTP/SSEI/GSX/Intimidator SS killer

lol! im going to be f-ed up

as far as the modding goes, coming from a formal gt'er, get a top swap if u want anything in the sub 13's, If ur happy with high maybe low 14's then stick with the n/a.

Props. You win, man, thanks...kind of what I was already looking at (tho I didnt know 1.84 RR's were made) and you more or less sold me on it...

Question though, why just a front powerlog and not front & rear manifolds? I don't understand the benefit of upgrading...well, what's essentially half your exhaust...

Dude I came from a 1996 Plymouth Breeze, with all of 100hp (if I was lucky) left in it by the time she got traded... I was actually SHOCKED by my Prix after my first stoplight drag (lost to a pretty intense modded cobalt SS) but she got my adrenaline going so hard I thought I was gonna have a heart attack, lol!

That's worn off, of course, and I'm glad for it-- cuz now I'm brave enough to want to take it further...mid 14's would be fine for me, since reliability > 1/4 times...I don't intend to race timed quarters anyway, I'll stick to the streets.

It is because the rear manifold is actually cast pretty good from the factory as the front is epic fail...I mean, it probably wouldn't HURT to do it, but the trouble putting it in isn't worth it IMO.
