    The S/C pistons have larger pins.

    Compression distance is greater for s/c pistons which means you'd have to have a shorter rod to have the same piston/valve clearance.

    My searching suggests the L67 pistons must have a larger dish in order to lower compression and increase piston-valve clearance.
