So I was thinking of taking off the resonator delete in my 2007 grand prix gxp, I am not very mechanically inclined, where would I take it to get that done? What would it run me? Is there a down side to it?

Rasp.
You dont want that.
Buy some muffler if you want to change the sound.
Muffler/Exhaust shops can do all this for you, they must be welded on.
Not too familiar with the GXPs but I know that as a general rule of thumb deleteing the res is not a good idea.. Makes the v6 cars sound like poopy. I am not real sure about the V8 but I will still suggest replaceing the res with a glasspack...
Meh, stock res is better than a glasspack, glasspack res wont really help change any sound, its just the cheap way to fix a broken res.
Resonators are your friend. They resonate and things.
Keep it.
I had my res removed by a local muffler shop for $40...I am catless no resonator with stock mufflers and it sounds really good
Well thank you fellas I'll keep them on then, I do plan on throwing an exhaust on it any idea whats the best sounding? I've youtubed a bunch but my buddy says the SLP exhaust will sound the best?
He is a GXP sandman. So some good mufflers will make it sound good.
DOnt buy a whole exhaust system, they are a waste of money. Get some magnaflow or flowmaster mufflers, or even borla or corsica mufflers.
I know I am late on this one but I have an 06 GXP and I just changed to the shortest magnaflow mufflers and dual 4" tips..... Sounds great!
im not sure if the gxp exhausts have the same "shape" as the GT and GTP. if they do i like my corsa. if it would work and you like it try to find a used one cuz brand new they are 1200 lol. and i bet it would sound even better on a v8!
I will agree, yes late and yes res delete sounds bad!! LOL I have a magnaflow cat, res delete, dumping into two blowmasters. Idle I LOVE how my car sounds, but that's about it.. Lower RPM's have a bad raspy sound. get above 2500-2700 RPM's and it mellows out some.
I'm debating on what to put back on it because something needs to be done, drone at highway speeds put me to sleep (good for the kids and wife, but not the driver..)
