Yeah... As my personal mechanic has said... "Your car is haunted, take it to a church to get exorcised"

Well, whenever I turn on my AC (Fan) it only turns on at 5 but only sometimes. If it does turn on, my headlights go out (Have to turn the knob to force them on). If it doesn't turn on I have to hit my blinker both ways, turn on the wipers and turn my headlights on and off and it will sometimes turn on then, and if it doesn't after awhile it will just randomly kick in.

Is this a known electric issue that is an easy fix? Is it worth taking to an electrician to find out the problem?

Add: Not only do the headlights go out but all the interior automatic lights do as well.

That's what's causing all the issues? I guess it would make sense if it's a short.

Could be alot bigger problem than just a resistor.

Resistor is a good start. Could be a bad ignition switch.

Funny you mention that. My key is actually stuck and I had to pop off the circular piece under the steering wheel to push a screw driver in to get it out.

Would that fix more than just the key?

Also, thanks for all the quick suggestions. Just wondering what would fix it without spending TOO much. Heh.

Key wont get stuck in ignition. Wont affect anything else.

    Its free to remove.

Remove steering column housing then tear solenoid out with pliers.

As for the other issues: could be ign switch.

But if you know a good technician who specializes in electrical it might be worth your time to find out for sure.

Alright, that's a start. Thanks, i'll get it done tomorrow.

Oh, also forgot to mention that my AC Compressor clutch is going. Seen shavings along with annoying high pitch grinding noise.

Its better to change out the whole compressor than to mess with trying to change just the clutch.

Thanks, that was my plan but I was just adding it in case it had any issues with the electric.

It shouldn't. All the power for the interior etc is funnelled through the ignition switch. Many experience issues like you are having and find it to be a flakey switch.

My ac blower went out, my car radio went out, the power windows would not go down and this on a 100 degree day! The a/c still does put out cold air, but the blower quit working. I thought my car was possessed too. Miserable to drive in the heat. I had to open the door at each stop light to not over heat! I disconnected/reconnected the battery..nothin..checked the fuses..they are all fine. Mechanic thinks the wires are bad to the fuse box. Another mechanic says it is the control panel. Any thoughts?

Looks like your ignition switch is on it's way out.
