So my friend has a 1998 gtp with 160k he used his wipers today and now they wont go down. They stay in the up position like to the farthest point of the drivers side of the windshield when they are switched off. Then he attempted to fix them by just pulling on them down and now they are in the resting position. (like when the wipers arent on between the pulses not where they should be when flipped off.)

So what needs to be fixed when the wipers get stuck up? i read on here about a pin being bent possibly. or does somone have a link on how to fix this

when the wipers are turned off..the motor/assembly circle back and should rest on a tab to make them park. It's common for that tab to bend up over the years.

Pull the drivers wiper and cowl. You'll see the tab once you start messing with it. See if the piece misses the tab when it reverses to try and park. Gently adjust the tab slightly and see if that doesn't fix you up.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

yeah under the trans is a little tab with a v cut. That needs to hit the bracket to stop in the rights spot. It fixed mine for a few days then started parking upright again.

my gf's 97 gtp started resting upright at about 168k. I ended up just replacing her motor assembly. it's not too difficult to do, just getting it in and out between the weather strip of the engine compartment and the windshield can be difficult.
