Thread: Blower motor

I changed out my blower motor.. relatively easy. However does anyone know how to change the dual climate control reading to read in Celsius instead of Fahrenheit? Changing my eng/met on the DIC doesn't seem to do the trick.

You will have the pull the HVAC unit from the dash to find this and change it.

There are 2 main connectors at the back of the HVAC control unit. C and D. At connector D there is pin D7. This is the English/Metric connection point. If this point is grounded it reads Metric-Celsius. If this is open (no ground) it reads English-fahrenheit. The ground originates from ground number G201. BTW - The specific wire you will be looking for is black. If you're handy with a multimeter, set it to ohms - resistance. Check at connector D, pin D7 relative to ground. If it reads a short then its set for Metric. All you'll need to do is open the wire at this point to read fahrenheit.

I gotta change my resistor in my 2002 GT. I'm not worried about the procedure, but am wondering about any tips to getting the carpeted cover off under the glove box. Will it just pull off, or is there a trick to it? I don't want to damage the cover or the plugs that hold it. I've taken door panels and what-not off before and know first hand what a pain it is when they break. I hate loose hardware or components. With 180,000 miles, enough stuff rattles already...

Thanks a lot guys. I assumed they just pulled out, but I wanted to make sure before I ruin something. I appreciate the responses, truly!

Got it done no problem. I used a needlenose to grab the shank of the plastic pins and my other hand as a fulcrum to pry them out...worked great.

All in all, it took me about 45 minutes. I could have done it quicker, but I had a 2 year old boy crawling on me the whole time.
