plog simple and straight forward 3.4 pulley you just need a pulley puller/installer
im guessing you also have a tune on its way and all the other supporting mods?
I happen to have a pulley puller/installer for sale if ya want it its cheep but works
This a newb question, but were is the plog located?
PLOG is the front exhaust manifold.
Agreed. I have a P-Log setup, but wish I had just started off with headers. Even though the P-Log is very well designed, it still has to function like the factory exhaust. Headers will be a great investment if you even think you might want to mod past a basic 3.4 setup. Trust me, I am wishing I had bought headers a long time ago.
It's a shame I don't have headers on the way, or I'd offer to sell you my exhaust setup...![]()
Headers are the best, I'm going dp/pl just because I'm gettng a 3" DP for free.
I just got the plog and I am gonna try to install it this week. I hope I can do it haha since i have no past experience modding. Also is there a how to thread on how to install one so I can have a guide line?
I don't know about any of you that have swapped pulleys but mine was a pain in the butt! I had the right puller/installer from "Pulley Boys" and it would of been easier to remove the snorkel and use my shop press. I measured the diameter of the shaft and the inside diameter of the removed stock pulley and the pulley was almost .0025" smaller. I've read a couple of other stories of a hard removal. I heated with a propane torch while dribbling water over the seal area of the shaft and it was still a rough removal. This totally destroys the stock pulley in the process, for what it's worth.
My S/C snorkel seal started leaking a couple weeks later and I ended up rebuilding the snorkel with upgraded seal and coupler and used ceramic bearings which supposedly run 30% cooler. The moral of my story is; it might be worth removing the snorkel to install the new pulley and upgrade the coupler while it's off.
I purchased "Pulley Boys" quick-change pulley system and I love it. You can purchase different size pulleys as you continue to mod and it only takes 20 minutes to change pulleys. The puller is $135 and you need to use it if your not using a shop press with the snorkel removed.
ZZP makes a puller that is easier to use and does not destroy a pressed-on pulley.
