you're definitely the exception, not the rule. mine goes down 2mpg at 80.
how many miles to the tank are you getting? divide that by 12 and you'll get a good reading just in case the wheels are throwing your computer off. that makes sure you actually have a problem haha. defintely check the O2 sensors, i changed my front one and MAF at like 125,000 due to codes, that was like 5 mpg and it ran so much better. it could be where you drive it too, these cars are thirsty in town, i'm lucky to get 20 and my engine's clean. and since nobody's mentioned it, could be air filter/dirty plugs if you're over 100k, just little things like that. look into some of these and you could save yourself some money
I thought it was one penny and one nickel? or dime? I cant remember....not like it really matters. Use whatever fits best.
brand new air filter, not sure on the plugs, i know there not stockers tho....
do you have a gt? 3.29 gears?
can some one point me in a direction to clean my maf, i also heard cutting the gasket in there helps some to, not for mpg, just helps
go to an auto parts store and pick up a can of "maf cleaner"
spary your maf and your done. you will need a set of "security torx" bits to get it out though
you take out your MAF sensor, clean it with MAF cleaner(dont scrub it) and put it back in...never heard of cutting the gasket

the throttle body gasket, it hangs in side or some crap? idk i read it somewhere, cant remember where..... i have a gtp
SCRUB THE MAF?!?!?! Are you crazy? Thta thing is sensitive enough by just spraying it with a higher pressure cleaner...let alone scrubbing it...DONT DO THAT.
definitely. that's an expensive piece of plastic too, a refurbished one after the core charge ran me like $140. there's no gasket, but there's a mesh screen that's in front of the MAF. taking that out leads to a little better air flow but the sensor's right in the middle of the intake. if your filter doesn't get EVERYTHING then you need another new MAF, your call.
OK...I should have said dont scrub it at all....dont physically touch it (the sensor portion....) spray it only. I stated it above very poorly
