How much would it cost to do a engine swap ?

Depends on what they run in your area, and how good of a job you want to do. On average, $600 for the engine, $200 for gaskets, maybe ~$100 for various fluids (oil, coolant, maybe some fresh PS fluid, etc). If you don't have a picker and engine stand, those will run about $300 new, you could rent or buy used off CL to save money, though. I'd also set about $200 aside for random stuff that pops up unexpectedly (like new hardware to swap your flexplate over). Or, you could just toss the engine in without replacing any gaskets, use the old oil and coolant that's in your current engine, and save that money. PCM will need to be done if you're (I'm assuming) swapping from an L36 to an L67, factor in that cost if you don't have a tuner or someone with one that can do it locally.
EDIT: I actually assumed a lot with my post, I have no idea what engine you want to install, or what you want to install it into. Or even if you were talking about the cost of the engine and/or other hard parts at all. If you meant cost of the labor, depends on what your local shops charge, gotta call and ask them.

1800-2500 from a shop easy.
Anywhere from 6-9 hours labor, plus fluids, shop supplies and fee's and tax, then the motor depending on mileage will vary but just assume that any shop will try to make 300-500 off the motor just to cover their ass in case they break something. This is just for a grand prix.
Some cars call for nearly 20 hours for a R&R, diesel trucks are even more.
If your current engine is still good, you would be better off doing a top swap. http://www.grandprixforums.net/threa...s-of-3800-Info
