My motor is in good shape other than the pan leak, and there wasn't any metal shavings on the drain bolt. There's nothing to risk. It's 3000 miles. It's not like it's 5000 miles or something. It was last changed in July. And I'm pretty sure it's not even 3000 miles yet. Probably high 2's. How about this, if my engine breaks, I won't cry about it you, ok? All i wanted to do was put thinner stuff in for winter. All I wanted.
I gave her a much needed wash.
I try to wash it as much as I can. Even though it will be dirty by the end of tomorrow.
Far out! Sorry, that just spiked the ol' absurdity meter. I don't know what else to say. Ya learn something new every day here! I used to switch the 455's oil for winter but landed on straight 30W year round and no complaints. I'm in a pretty mild climate, though.
Spent more time familiarizing myself with the trusty scan tool today, in the GTP. Actually installed it's s/w on my pc so I can look at stuff better. Feels like kindergarten lol.
says filters can go 7500, but oil only can do 3k LOLOLOLOLOL

That place says they can.

That place says the same thing under normal driving.
Idc really, a Purolator filter around here runs $3.27 plus tax. For the better filter I pay a little more, why even leave it. Conventional oil can go 5k. 3800's dirty the oil a little faster than most modern engines, so I wouldn't re-use it especially on these engines.
Most Dino oil can go 5 k now as well.
